Meet Heidi Bee | Divorce Comeback Coach – Certified & Trauma Informed Life Coach, specializing in planning a life you look forward to after divorce.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heidi Bee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heidi, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is relationships. In the divorce space, so much of what my clients are looking for is trust. The success comes for the people I serve and the business I run, by cultivating connection first. By serving & helping first. By adding value and having an genuine interest first. I never sell someone on my coaching, course & community. I INVITE them into a relationship. I invite them into an opportunity to be seen, heard & supported. I’ve learned over the years that it’s never about the money. My philosophy is IMPACT over INCOME. And when I place value on the relationship first, the income will follow. The success factor behind my success is not only the relationship I focus on first with potential clients, but also with others who share in my vision and mission. When I meet people at networking events & they love what I do, invested first in building a relationships with them. When trust is built created from that relationship, it opens up an authentic opportunity for collaboration, service, and referrals. I’m fascinated first by who the person “behind the business” is and the “why behind their try”. When you know WHY someone has created their business, why they show up to provide that product/service daily, and WHO they are at the core, that is when you feel most connected and wanted to share them with others.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In 2015 I was busy “climbing the corporate ladder” as a professional meetings and incentive trip planner, when divorce struck. I got really great and burying myself in work so that I didn’t have to deal with how I was feeling or life alone. As a high-achieving, do-it-all, six-figure-earner, I was determined to “push through & not let anything slow me down.” But that became exhausting quickly & I knew I needed to figure out myself and this new life on my own. I searched for divorce books, resources & women’s groups where I could find myself again… but I couldn’t find any. Sure, there was the therapy route, the church support group route, but nothing that made me feel like was surrounded by other women motivated to create their next-level-life. I didn’t want to be in space or place where I complained & cried about my missing my Ex every week, I wanted to build an epic life for myself and focus on “what now, what next”. I saw an Ad on social media for a 12-month certification to become a life coach. In the first 2-months of this course, I had transformed & healed deeply from my divorce, and felt like a new woman. I new in that moment, my event-planning days were quickly coming to an end, and I was about to figure out how to become and entrepreneur & help hundreds… thousands of women learn how to thrive after divorce. After coaching graduation, I put in my corporate career notice, bought a new laptop, and started creating an online course and coaching community to connect women to the roadmap, resources & relationships they need to navigate their new normal & move forward faster. Was it easy? Heck no! In fact, I’m so glad I didn’t know how hard it was going to be, or I may not have tried. And, I’m so glad I tried, because this is the most fulfilling work and I know it’s my calling. The way I overcame the challenges are the same as the lessons I’ve learned along the way. The top 3 lessons I’ve learned are: (1) You don’t have to know it all, you just have to be willing to try & take messy action. (2) People DO want to help, ask for it, and ask how you can help them. (3) You win the battle of fear by taking courageous action. Whenever I have a hard day & my mind tries to convince me to give up (on a task, on myself, or on my business) I remember my why. My why is the woman laying on the cold bathroom floor, bawling her eyes out. She is lost, she is lonely, she is looking for more. But she doesn’t know what to do, or where to start. I remember, I can show her where to start. I can show her what to do next. I remember that I can invite her to a coaching course where she can find herself again, and to a community where she doesn’t have to feel alone anymore. I want the world to know that there are no setbacks. There are only SET UPs for epic comebacks. I want the world to know that if you or someone you know is sitting in the “divorce ditch” that there is a coach, a course, and a community eagerly waiting to pull you/her OUT of that ditch and into a life that you/she deserves and desires. I’m proud of the service I’ve created at Your Divorce Planner & excited about all the continued lives we’ll continue to help transform & reclaim their next best chapter!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question because I LOVE exploring this city! I moved here in 2020 from California during the pandemic (I know, but my partner is here & the cost of living can’t be beat.) I was a little hesitant to find fun stuff because Cali-life was epic! BUT, to my surprise, this city has so much to love and plenty to do. In No particular order, I’ve come to love the following eateries, but the list goes on and on. Top Spots include: Napa Kitchen (Wine+Fondue), Martini’s (lemon-drop martini!), J. Alexanders (Avocado Bomb), Asian Gourmet (sushi), Mellow Mushroom (Pizza), Barrel & Boar (BBQ, Burnt Ends & Sangria). Like I said, the list can go on & on! I LOVE live music and Theater, so I frequent the listings for Ohio & Palace Theater, Nationwide arena & The Schottenstein Center… they bring epic entertainers! If you are visiting during football season, an OSU game is a must. Go to the skull session pre-game & then enjoy the team spirit. Summertime has all sort of fun, including paddleboarding or beaching (yes, I found a beach here – woohoo!) I highly recommend renting a pontoon boat on Buckeye Lake (just 40-minutes outside of Columbus) & be sure to make a pit stop at Buckeye Lake Winery for outdoor waterfront dining and live music. Top Golf is also another fun spot! One of my favorite things about this area are the Metro parks. My partner & I decided during the pandemic to explore all (21) metro parks. Columbus does a great job of creating park experiences, trails & activities that are great for everyone. If all else fails, I hop on facebook events, or the “experience Columbus” website. Both are certain to showcase so many incredible & fun things to do in the area. We have found art fairs, festivals, tasting events, trivia & more, just by a quick community search.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people who have & continue to contribute to my personal & professional growth along this journey, I don’t want to single or leave anyone out. I’ve been blessed with amazing mentors, coaches, family, friends, and most recently incredible local networking circles, all whom have taught, inspired, supported & provided possibilities for me. I’m forever grateful (they know who they are… and if you find yourself curious, give me a poke, I’ll share more!)
