We had the good fortune of connecting with Heidi Negron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heidi, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

I created THE WELL to provide a safe space for women of all walks of life to practice wellness. I wanted to offer wellness beyond the physical. It was important to include various aspects of wellness that rounded out holistic wellness… from mental health, to nutrition to community connection.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I went to college to study fashion merchandising and business. I worked in the corporate retail world for over a decade. After a devastating loss in our family, where we lost my mom, I knew I wanted to serve a bigger purpose.

At that time, I had been running a side-hustle as a personal trainer for 5 years. I was training clients while working 40+ hours a week in the demanding retail world. It was exhausting given my work schedule, but incredibly fulfilling to help other women!
I was surrounded by women who wanted to be better, feel better, do better… for themselves and their families.
With the business acumen, strategic thinking and the analytical skillet the “retail world” taught me I started putting pencil to paper on understanding how this dream could evolve into a reality.

MANY MANY trials and errors later… THE WELL Collective was born.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

If my friends were vising Columbus we would likely enjoy Columbus in many different forms. From self-care at one of the amazing spas in Columbus such as Boss Gal, Panacea or Vinci to really yummy eats at Lindsey or SOW plated. There would likely be an outdoor activity at one of our beautiful metro parks!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

First and foremost, I would not have had the confidence to dream big without supportive parents and family. My dad is my biggest cheerleader and supporter. He was the first person I shared THE WELL vison with. He believed in me, my vision and worked side by side with me to bring this dream to life.

Along the journey I have been so fortunate to know and become friends with some of the most inspiring and encouraging women who make up the Columbus female founded businesses.
Kristie Lewis with Simple Nest Home Staging and Design, Kathy Keeney with Boss Gal Beauty Bar, Cheryl Sher with Bliss in a Bottle, Elizabeth Coratola and Lauren Schouweiler with Coco The Shop, Helen Speiser and Whitney Poma at Third Street Digital, Kylie and Johnny with Vinci Nail Spa, Rachelle and Phoebe with The Butchershop, … just to simply name a few who I have learned so much from over the years. These women have supported me far beyond mentorship. Their advice, ideas, support and encouragement was my spring board into building this brand. Their support over the years has strengthened our bond far beyond being “mentors”, their love and support has grown into lifelong friendship.
