We had the good fortune of connecting with Holly Masters Fleming and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Holly, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Farmdale, Ohio! A small farm town (I bet you could have guessed that!) with a huge heart. My high school graduating class was 53 students and I played travel soccer and basketball. I attended college at Penn State for Occupational Therapy Assistant and also have my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development & Family Studies. My parents gifted me a DSLR camera from Ebay for Christmas 12 years ago and that is where my passion really developed! I was always the girl with the point and shoot camera at school dances and taking photos everywhere I went. So, when I had a real camera I started to experiment with portrait photography and editing software. My first official shoot was a newborn session for my cousin Alaina, who is 11 now! I shot my first wedding at age 16 and also did a lot of senior and family sessions. Photography was always my hobby and helped pay for college. Fast forward to now, I have been a full time photographer for 2.5 years. I specialize in weddings (destination & local), families, lifestyle newborn sessions, and seniors. I have a warm editing style and like to capture a mix of candid and posed moments to give my galleries variety!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Half of my business is connecting with others and telling their story. I am always honored to take photos of people. Whether I get to document their wedding day, birth of a new baby, or a life milestone I truly get to watch people grow and be apart of their families! I set myself apart in the area based on photo quality, personalized experience, and extreme attention to detail.

I have been doing photography for over 10 years so I wouldn’t say it has been easy but it has been attainable. I am a self taught photographer, I would spend hours on Youtube learning about camera setting, posing, and editing in Lightroom.

I have been able to document love stories in Hawaii, St. Croix, Utah, Maine, Florida, and Montana within the last 2 years which has been an absolute dream. To combine traveling with my career has been a game changer for me! This was a goal I set for myself 3 years ago and proves that hard work pays off and you have to believe / invest in yourself.

I would want everyone to know that I am truly grateful for this career and hope everyone finds as much satisfaction with their job as I do! Always bet on yourself, I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Places in Cleveland I love: West Side Market- Perogies, Ohio City Pasta, Whiteflower Cupcakes!! Downtown is beautiful, I would suggest the Flats & walk through the Arcade!

Chagrin Falls: Sapphire Creek Winery & walking the strip!

Closer to me: Mill Creek Metro Parks, you could hike here all day and see something new!

We also love boating on Shenango, Mosquito, or Berlin lake! Skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing!

Local restaurants we love: Times Square (Kinsman), Peter Allen Inn, & Cocas Pizza

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A huge shoutout would go to my family, friends, and my husband! My parents gifted me my first camera, all my friends would model for me and then help me spread the word about my photography page! I have never paid for advertising and I truly attribute it to word of mouth and social media! My husband encouraged me to go full time with photography during covid and it has been busier every single year.
