We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaclyn Bradley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaclyn, what do you attribute your success to?

I think the key to anyone’s success is doing what you love and serving others through it. I get to sing and make music with others every day, and that is so joyful for me. Finding what you delight in and discovering how to impact the world positively through it is the “magic” formula.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

My superpower has been working alongside great talents. It has been the people around me who have helped me to achieve my dreams. My albums, songs, music school, or film projects would not have come to fruition without the musicians, teachers, and artists whom I have collaborated with. Know your allies and trust in others when your intuition tells you to.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Lorain is my amazing hometown. It has become my favorite place. Here are my recommendations to visitors:

Speak of the Devil- remarkable cocktails and unbeatable vibe… try “the painkiller.”

The Palace Theater- beautiful venue of exquisite character.

Lorenzo’s Pizza- the best pie; owned by the best people.

Rockin’ on the River- outdoor music venue on the Black river. Live music and sunsets!

The Ariel Hotel- stay here.

Firefish Festival- if you’re here in September.

K- Cream Korner- Get the Orange-Vanilla twist.

Magdalen’s Gallery + Espresso- pretty space and coffee drinks.

Lakeview park and beach- Soak up the sun on Lake Erie.

Bascule Brewery- home-grown beers. I like the “paranormal” in October, with toasted marshmallows.

Broadway Mary’s- Fun and tasty. Named after a famous local legend.

Rock Town- take a singing lesson!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

If I wrote a book, these would be my acknowledgements today:

To author Sylvia Plath and musician Tori Amos- “The Bell Jar” and “Little Earthquakes” were works of art that changed my life. They taught me that it was ok for a girl to feel deeply… and to write about/express it.

To Author, Glennon Doyle- see above, but replace “girl” with “woman.”

To my broken heart- I wouldn’t be who I am today without our crazy adventures. Thank you for beating on…

To DC, for returning me to my truest self through the truest love….and for our vinyl collection.

To my parents- for giving me a lifetime of being wanted and valued.

To my daughter, for giving me my greatest fuel and purpose. When you came along, so did all the magic.
