We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Tomesek and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremy, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I remember in the early 90’s I was gifted a karaoke machine for Christmas. This karaoke machine had 2 wired microphones, 2 tape decks with recording ability, and a disk player all-in-one. As a child I began recording music on cassette tapes. Fast forwarding to around 2001 I was introduced to FLstudio (pc music creation software). With my growing fascination of audio recording and making music I became obsessed I guess.

One thing about being an artist of any type is it becomes a part of who you are as a person. In 2008 I began stage performing my music all over northern Ohio and southern Michigan. This lasted until the summer of 2017. At that point in my life I was changing life style and choices. You can say I retired as a musician after performing with Bone Thugs ‘n’ Harmony in The Agora Cleveland.

During the pandemic I felt lost without creating media how I used to for over 15 years. So I enrolled myself into Ohio Media School for Radio Broadcasting/Television. This is what brought me into the world of podcasting. I had prior experience with radio from an internet show I did in 2015 called “Close2Cashed Radio”. I was also interviewed a few times on radio in my days of performing music. The school taught me how to film Television and how to broadcast on the radio. That is when I birthed my latest media content endeavor “NoOutletLive”.

But to answer your question simply, obsession and addiction to creating media content is why I pursued an artistic/creative career. My entire life has been engulfed by it because it is my therapy, love, and diary. I also enjoy the fact that when I die a piece of who I am will be left for the world. My essence will always be around. My most embarrassing and beautiful moments are documented and available for the generations to come. Art is timeless, so the creator truly never dies. I am proud to say that I found a way to live forever.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
NoOutletLive is a podcast that is in the comedy lane but covers weekly news. You will learn about me and my life, but most importantly youll hear my non bias opinions on world issues. Our commentary is hilarious on internet videos and weekly news topics. I interview artists of all sorts and really showcase their content to give viewers/listeners a chance to see talents they may not have a chance to see otherwise. I highly encourage everyone to simply Google search NoOutletLive and you’ll find the show on any platform you can consume podcasts.

Building this show has been complicated financially and time consuming to have a product worth promoting. Tech is always advancing which brings upgrades to equipment, and troubleshooting them to work correctly for live broadcasting. It takes alot of practice talking with people on camera with microphones to do it comfortably and professionally also. Nothing I have done regarding my podcast has been without trial-and-error. Just remember if you fail 100 times, you gain 100 times the experience for competition.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To start off I am a serious “Foodie” so there are many options in Cleveland I would consider. The Standard on E.185th is an amazing place to have an excellent meal. One of Clevelands most famous places to eat though would have to be Slyman’s. Slyman’s Tavern is the continuation of a wonderful Cleveland legacy, the original Slyman’s Restaurant is located in downtown Cleveland. Opened in 1964, Slyman’s has become a Cleveland staple, loved and respected by all who come to enjoy the biggest and best corned beef sandwich.

Then to comedy afterwards. Clevelands comedy scene is booming. Shows by Secret Society Comedy are an amazing way to see locals performing some of the funniest material you will find. If you’re more into the big name acts I would recommend Hilarities on E.4th in downtown Cleveland. It’s a renowned club every celebrity comic has taken the stage at. The street it’s on is a party from one end to the other. Some of my favorite memories were made on Clevelands E.4th street!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all I must shout out all of my friends and family in Ohio. Without my upbringing I would’ve never became who I am today. Huge thanks to A Plus Media LLC and Gilberto Rivera for allowing me to work on the music video shoot and my cameo in “Agua Viva Para Energy”. Ohio Media School for the skills I learned in the Cleveland campus. Anthony Miano for starting “NoOutletLive” in collaboration with me, also congratulations to him on writing and publishing his 1st book “Changing of the Gods”. My co-host and graphic designer Jarrod Stover, his contributions to the podcast and the music of my past will forever be cherished by thousands of people including myself. Now for the last but far from least I must thank God. I’m not a religious man but I do believe life is more than whatever this is.
