We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess Laughlin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess, what do you attribute your success to?
I have found that when I lead from the heart, I make more personable connections and build relationships that are successful. As a small business, your bottom line is always important, but shouldn’t be your only focus. When you have a mission that drives you and excites you, you know you’re on the right path.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
FEELINGS – ALL THE FEELINGS! Society has taught us to hide feelings that are too big or messy so that we don’t make others uncomfortable. We’ve been taught all wrong. When we’re offered a safe space to let down our guard and feel all the feels, we allow others to connect with us, better understand our actions, and normalize all the crazy shit we go through. XO is here to start those tough conversations and let others know that we see them and want to support them. My cards and stickers are created through my own life experiences and feelings, and I’m learning SO many people appreciate the honesty and raw emotions that come from it. Normalizing grief is not an easy task, but if I can continue to reach more people, maybe just maybe the next generation will feel a little more comfortable sharing their grief and heal in a much more healthy way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout out is to my parents – obviously I wouldn’t be here or who I am, without their support and love. Losing my Dad in 2016 changed who I am and what truly matters in life. Without that experience xoLaughlinCo. wouldn’t exist.
