We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonas Garvin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

I love this quote because it pretty much nails what I try to do with my stand up comedy to a T!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well I’m a comedian, an actor, and a writer, but first and foremost I am a comedian! I try to put comedy in everything I do. I guess I got where I am today by just keeping at it, working hard, and getting a break or two along the way. And NO it hasn’t been easy! As far as lessons I’ve learned along the way I know it sounds cliche but the old saying “You can’t please everyone” comes to mind. I would have to say really the only thing I want to know about me is that I am here to make you laugh!! And sometimes the truth might hurt, but before you get upset, just wait until you hear the punchline!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Los Angeles so daily trips to a few of my haunts would be in order! First a trip down to Venice for breakfast at The Sidewalk Cafe. Then back to Hollywood for lunch at Barney’s Beanery and dinner at The Rainbow Bar and Grill! In between cocktails and meals we would do some tourist stuff too. Maybe a hike up Runyon, a trip to Universal, and whatever else my guests would like to do. I would tell you more but some of things we would do would be considered borderline illegal, so I would like to protect the names of the guilty.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Sure is! I would have to say my family, friends, and fans who have been supporting me all along and all the new friends and fans I have made along the way! The people who come to my shows, buy my specials, books, and all that other good stuff!
