Meet Kasey Galik | Interior Designer, Creative.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kasey Galik and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kasey, why did you pursue a creative career?
Like many creatives, I believe we are innately driven to turn our artistic passions into careers.
Traditional schooling never appealed to me, I was easily sidelined by the structure and monotony of lessons, yearning instead for a space to create. I realized that pursuing a traditional education and career wasn’t for me, prompting me to take a creative route. Initially, I worked as a hairstylist and explored some corporate roles, but ultimately found them unfulfilling.
My mind is a constant stream of ideas, leading to chaos, as creativity knows no pause, bringing both challenges and rewards. I craved an unconventional career where each day could be unique and allow me to forge my own path. I’m always designing—whether it’s curating an inviting tablescape or assembling a vibrant outfit—it’s a core part of my self-expression, and I can’t imagine a better way to share my passions than through my career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a naturally creative individual, I have a passion for transforming life into art, but my primary focus is on interiors.
I founded Kasey Galik Interiors to cultivate a home, recognizing that everything begins there. As a newlywed, I immersed myself in making our house a home through cooking, painting, curating playlists, and making candles. I soon realized not only my love for these activities but also my talent in them, as I witnessed how our home positively impacted our lives, affirming that everything truly starts at home.
Initially, I began sharing that and my own renovations, which inspired others to reach out for guidance, leading to a cascade of projects. My business took off with positive feedback on my intentional designs.

However, my biggest challenge has been overcoming self-doubt, comparison can rob joy and shake my confidence in this saturated industry. With time I have gained confidence and now attract the clients that my design aligns the most with.

I want people to understand that my work goes beyond interior design; it’s about how we function and feel in our spaces.
Kasey Galik Interiors is dedicated to intentionally blending form and function to create meaningful environments for long lasting memories.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Pataskala is located about 20 minutes from the city of Columbus so it has really given me the ability to explore the surrounding towns and cities. Of course being into design I would center each day around my favorite antique stores!
Let’s start by driving almost 30 min southwest to Lancaster, OH and stop at Donut World first. Open 24hrs this hidden gem has some of the best donuts I have ever had. Now off to The Olde Shoe Factory Antique Mall – 3 floors of amazing vintage and unique items. After all that shopping off to Rockside Winery for some mulled wine. Headed back toward home we would stop at Heritage Square Antique Mall and explore the hidden treasures there. Then to Scali Ristorante for an Italian dinner.
The next day we would start out with coffee and breakfast from Station in Granville and head out to Black Hand Gorge for a hike. On our way back we would pass the “Worlds Largest Basket” and stop in at Wilsons Garden Center. Before heading off to an early happy hour and dinner at Ghostwriter in Johnstown we would pop into Hope Timber to do some more vintage shopping.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
From a young age, I received encouragement to pursue what I love without being pressured to choose the conventional or seemingly smartest path. My mom always emphasized the importance of following my happiness, which was crucial in helping me uncover and nurture my passions. While my mom has been a tremendous source of support throughout my journey, my husband has stepped up as my biggest cheerleader during my career transitions. He has motivated me to explore my interests more deeply and has inspired me to transform it into a fulfilling career. They have both given me the confidence and love I needed to get to where I am today.
