We had the good fortune of connecting with Katherine Simpson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katherine, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was flexibility and my love for baking and treat making. I wanted a way to honor my late grandmother and share my gifts with the community.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My professional life is in the mental health field working with K-8 students. I’ve been in this field for many years. One of the things I love is helping others with overcoming barriers and tapping into their full potential. This journey is a learning experience, I’ve learned a lot about myself personally and professionally. This job has encouraged me to grow, communicate, expand in my creativity and problem solving skills. Some of the lessons I have learned are never give up, never lose sight of your why in life, and embrace yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a little shy and at home person most of the time. I would suggest going to downtown Cleveland by East 4th for the restaurants or catch a game at Rocket Mortgage Field House. I also would suggest the casino and visiting a few places in the Flats

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents! They are my motivation and my biggest supporters. They have been there every step of the way from discovering recipes, taste testing and attending pop ups with me. I greatly appreciate them!
