We had the good fortune of connecting with KeAnna and Bridget and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KeAnna and Bridget, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Tears, Tides, and Transformation is a healing platform that was birthed in the Winter of 2020 to normalize the conversation of emotional and mental wellness, and doing the work to heal childhood and adulthood trauma. As we caught up after not seeing one another for awhile due to the pandemic, we vulnerably shared our healing journeys with one another and envisioned creating a space for women of all walks of life to have a space for vulnerable and courageous conversations about their life’s journey. From that conversation, TTT and the podcast was born. Since that time, TTT has evolved from just a podcast, to include workshops, retreats, conferences, inspirational speaking, and merchandise (i.e. coloring book and affirmation decks) that support and encourage the healing journey. We believe that when we share with one another through raw conversations, vulnerability, and reflection, we can learn how to better manage the challenges and transitions in our lives, individually and collectively.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Tears, Tides, and Transformation mirrors the friendship between the founders. One of extreme vulnerability, transparency, and support and love. Based on the way we show up in each other’s lives, we felt that other women needed to witness what it looks like to be seen and heard, and to feel safe and secure to be our authentic selves. We set out to share that with others and to teach women the importance of tribes, and more importantly, how to create them, especially when we’re on the healing journey. TTT is all about building community, co-creating with community, education, awareness, and sharing tips, tools, and resources. At the foundation of TTT is modeling what healing looks like, which is a very vulnerable and challenging place for us to be sometimes because we have to be honest about the things we go through. That’s how we curate safe spaces and are able to resonate with our audience.
Building and growing TTT hasn’t been easy and we’ve definitely learned lessons. It’s taken us 3 years to make a profit. While we’re grateful to have money in the bank, we’re not at the point where we can pay ourselves. Over the last 3 years, we’ve been learning and are still figuring out the business model that fits us the best. The biggest lesson we’ve learned is that we started TTT as a passion project but treated it like a business because we are both entrepreneurs who are use to doing business. Instead of keeping the pressure off, we put it on, lol. Instead of creating a podcast with little expenses, we contracted a producer who costs lots of money. But we don’t regret the decisions we made because it led us to today. And taking the step to start a quality sounding podcast that actually had and has a significant impact on anyone who listens, led us to hosting our inaugural women’s healing conference this year in October, which also had a significant and positive impact on the women who attended as well as our sponsors. Our success has made us get clear about what kind of business we want to run and how we want to run it. It’s been a very insightful journey, and we’ve had to have some grounding conversations about how to best manage what we’ve created with integrity.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to? Hmmmm, great question. We like to have a good time, so we’d take them to 1Eleven or Coco’s Bistro for a good meal and drinks. We’d then head to Tender Mercy or Joui Wine Bar or The Rooftop at the AC Hotel, or all three, for more drinks, good conversations, and good vibes. W. Social is another cool place and a food hall that gives them options. It would depend on the vibe our friends would like to have.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’d like to thank the journey; the good, bad, ugly, and challenging. Our journeys have made us who we are today, and has inspired and encouraged us to create TTT in the first place. We’d also like to thank our families, friends, and our communities for their support as well. Tribes really do matter. And a huge shoutout to our tools that keep us everyday. Healing is absolutely a daily journey, and to do it right we need helpful, relevant, and effective tools. We both use the following tools and healing modalities: therapy, energetic healing, affirmations, spiritual healing and devotionals, journaling, nature, and exercise.
