Meet Kirsten Carver | Blogger/ Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kirsten Carver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kirsten, what do you attribute your success to?
Consistency. I started my blog, All That Scrapbook, as a passion project during the pandemic. I was looking for a way to fuel my creative passion, while also earn a little bit of money. Prior to creating my own blog I had seen successful entrepreneurs turn their blogs into full time income. I was confident that I could do the same.
A year down the road I was barely making pennies. Still, I persisted in the hopes that one day it would turn into something BIG. Each week I pumped out new blog posts and social media content in hopes that one piece of content would go viral. I had this false belief that if just one of my posts gained enough traction that my blogging business would take off.
It wasn’t until two and a half to three years in that I started to see some momentum. I was able to join an ad network and grow a small following. But it wasn’t one post that gave me these results. Instead, it was the little things I did. Each post I made and each piece of content brought in more viewers little by little. I think back to the posts that had only gotten 9 likes, but one of those 9 people became “forever followers”.
I think consistency and discipline are the two most important factors behind any success story. Go online and find any viral video. 99% of the time it was a one-hit-wonder that had no significant impact on the creator/ brand. It’s also true that the brands who do have “viral” content will say that it took years for them to be where they are currently. If you remain consistent in your mission then you will eventually see results.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been passionate about crafting for as long as I can remember. Scrapbooking has become a meaningful way to combine that love with preserving memories. It wasn’t until I grew older that I truly recognized how important it is to document life’s special moments. Through scrapbooking, I have been able to pass along family history and personal stories to others, and will continue to for many years.
Unfortunately, scrapbooking, along with other handmade hobbies, is becoming less common. Especially among the younger generations. I think one thing that sets me apart is my modern approach to paper crafting. I use simple techniques and aesthetic designs to appeal to modern women.
I’m most proud of my ability to help others tangibly preserve significant memories. While also offering a meaningful way to dabble in creativity. I am currently working on my first product launch, an engagement guided scrapbook album. It was created to make documenting a person’s engagement and wedding planning simple. I’m excited to continue sharing this passion with others and helping them tell their unique stories.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
1. Breakfast at Fox In The Snow Cafe – they have the most delicious pastries and coffee. It is also an excellent spot to write and get work done.
2. Franklin Park Conservatory – This is the spot I take all my friends who visit. It is always peaceful and relaxing to walk around and look at the flowers. Especially during spring or Christmas time.
3. Dinner at Tip Top Kitchen – Such a hole in the wall but has delicious food, I get the beef stroganoff. The history of that place is also very interesting, as the building is very old. According to our waiter, one section of the restaurant used to house horse and buggy’s back in the day.
4. Blue Jackets game – Hockey is a big part of Columbus culture and is a must see.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout BySophiaLee for teaching me all their is to know about blogging. Two podcasts I learn so much from are “The Skinny Confidential” and “How I Built This”.
