We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Otto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always wanted to work with artists and create records. I couldn’t find employment with major labels with no experience, so I created my own Experience. In return my business grew from that.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been producing records and recording / mixing since around 2004. I started Dj ing before that and fell in love with the production side of making music. I am a totally Independent producer and Engineer with my own record label and studio Dark Heart Records. We have had recent success in the Charting of a couple records this past year and the brand really taking off, drawing in clients from all over the country. Was recently featured in an interview on Kiss 107 (Cincinnati’s premier radio station} for my work, as well as “the native brand podcast” trending as a “most popular” interview! Then name and logo are a play off of my life. From having Cardiac issues , living an underdog lifestyle etc. I have been fighting heart disease and congestive heart failure for the better half of my life. It creates challenges and hardships that make it tough to create sometimes, but that’s life right? You have to fight for things you love! I have learned a lot over the years producing records and one of the main things I have learned is patience and hard work will always pay off! Take the High road! and Numbers don’t lie! If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We most definitely will go to a Bengals game if its season. Might go small mouth bass fishing in the mornings. Hit some local spots to shop and Eat good. Play some Pool at Michaels pool Hall, my other favorite thing to do besides fishing and music. Other than that we are going with the flow. I don’t like to plan I trust the energy of the present and move accordingly. WE GONNA HIT THE STUDIO I KNOW THAT!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to Thank God first and foremost. I recently had an emergency open heart surgery and almost didn’t make it. So I am thankful to my creator that I am still here.
