Meet Larry Thomas | | Motivational Speaker & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Larry Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Larry, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Youngstown, Ohio born and raised. I lived in Youngstown, Ohio from birth up until I was about 13-14 years old. My background growing up was not the best I was exposed to criminal activity, drugs, poverty, child abuse and so much more. I was around a lot of many different people which ultimately showed me what I wanted to be when I got older and what I did not want to be when I grew older. My upbringings shaped me to be strong man despite the negative and or hardships I have and may face in my lifetime. Alot of the people I grew up around are either dead on in prison or selling drugs somewhere. I am one of the very few who paved a way for themselves.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other people in the world we live in today is my grit, attitude, heart. I am very intentional with everything I do or am involved in my life. When I speak, I speak with a purpose and a message to others. I am most proud of how far I have become mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually. I got to where I am today by being in confident in all that I do, making connections with people worldwide, being kind to others. No it was never easy there were times where I wanted to give up due to me feeling like I was not enough or was not getting the following or support from others in the beginning like I expected to. One lesson I have learned overtime is to never be afraid to step out on your faith or what you believe in despite having other people opinions not aligning with your own. I want everyone to know that it is ok to be different and want better for yourself. I want people to know that my story is not or was not made to discourage or tear people down instead it is here to motivate others to keep going even in the midst of hard times.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Columbus, Ohio I would take them to one of the largest sports venues in the country which is Ohio Stadium the home of the Ohio State Buckeyes. We would eat at some of the finest restaurants in the area such as The Royce, J Alexanders, Ruth Chris Steakhouse. We would hangout indoor and outdoor depending on what they are interested in.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a special shoutout to my mom, dad without them both would not be here today. All love and respect due to her in some gratitude. To my aunt I would like you to know the man I have turned into over the years is because of you your unwavering love, support, guidance, care. You taught me stuff that I never knew nothing about which will forever and always be instilled into me. To my cousin who is like a sister to me thank you for all the life lessons you have guided me through and aided me in I will never forget about and always be thankful for. To my youth and current pastors thank you for instilling the fire in me to love God and to always remember where I came from, how to spread the gospel on how good God is. To my immediate family and friends thank you for the support and love you have showed me along the way!
