Meet Lauryn Nichole Hendrix | Fashion Model & Concept Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauryn Nichole Hendrix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauryn Nichole, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want people to remember me as someone who was so persistent and passionate. I never want people to see me as better than them or have people look at me and think “wow I wish I was doing what she was doing” or compare themselves to me. Everyone develops and grows at their own pace. If anything I want others to look at me and feel inspired and I want to motivate them to push forward. When people think of me I want them to remember me as being a positive force within their life. I want to leave a positive impact on everyone I cross paths with or encounter in my lifetime. Being a short black woman in todays society who’s in the modeling field I want other short models and black women in future generations to look up to me and realize that they to can accomplish anything they want they just have to work hard for it. I want my content, my projects, my modeling career, and my personality to reflect what i’m all about and to push others to step out of their comfort zones and to reach for the stars. Anything is possible no matter what you are it’s just about taking those necessary steps to get there and i’m hoping to inspire others to see that as long as i’m on this Earth.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an 22 year old petite african american woman who models & i’m a concept director. I pursue runway, editorial, fashion, commercial, lifestyle, brand ambassador, social media, and fitness modeling I do it all! I create projects regarding today’s societal issues and I use my passion of directing to inspire and motivate other people to think and focus on what goes in the world today. Now on the modeling side of things I’ve been modeling for 3 years now and have come so far within these 3 years. I started out modeling outside of my house and now I recently was in a VOGUE KOREA publication that was shot during New York Fashion Week September 2023. I’ve been featured on a New York Fashion Week Times Square Billboard, I’ve been to New York Fashion Week 4 times, I’ve been Los Angeles Fashion Week and much more and I have recently become an International Model. My journey in these fields wasn’t easy at all. I faced discrimination, confidence issues, relationship conflicts, mental health issues and just doubt. I am still overcoming some of these challenges to this day but I don’t give up or let anything stop me and I want all people to have that mindset! I overcame some of these challenges by trusting in god, trusting in myself and those close to me, believing in myself, opening my mind up more, and seeking advice out from others and letting them inspire me. Along the way i’ve learned to pace myself and not rush my success. I’ve learned to not try to be like everyone else and to stand out and be different. I learned that not everyone in this world will like you and want to support you and your journey and that’s okay they just weren’t meant to be there. And most importantly I have learned that it’s not about other people’s success and what they’re doing it’s about your own success and what are you gonna do to reach your god given goals. I want the world to know nothing was handed to me and I had to work really hard. I want the world to know that I have been through so much in my life but I never gave up my journey hasn’t been easy but i’m a fighter and I want my mindset to show others that they too can beat this game of life and win!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Columbus Ohio and i’m so basic haha. Skyline Chili is a big hit in just about everywhere in Ohio for sure check that out if you can eat meat and aren’t boujee. I personally love Chili’s it’s my go to favorite restaurant. I love just going out downtown on N High Street with my friends and just exploring. I love all the cute little coffee shops we have here in Columbus Ohio. I love going to Top Golf and just enjoying being around people I love. You can have a nice picnic in the Scioto Mile area.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my mom who’s always been my biggest supporter and just my whole entire family in general who have made this journey even more beautiful and who always keep me going especially when times get rough. They support my dreams and want to see me win always. They come to my shows help me with my projects and always make sure i’m my best self on the midst of all the craziness. I also wanna shoutout everyone who I have lost to death whether that’s friends or families for inspiring me to keep doing what I love and to keep going. I wanna make them all so proud so without them I wouldn’t be doing this either I know they would be so proud of me and how far i’ve come. I especially wanna shoutout my grandmother “Joan Adrienne” who was my best friend and taught me how to be a strong woman from an early age until I lost her to death. I wanna sincerely thank all the people so far that I have met in my 22 years of life who I have worked with, met, talked to, associated with, collaborated with because they have added to my life story and have affected and made me the person I am today as well. Even the negative people and negative experiences I have faced have made me the woman I am today and has taught me so much about myself and what I want out of my career and my life.
