We had the good fortune of connecting with lelana Cavotta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi lelana, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It started by planning parties for my friends, from baby showers or bridal parties. As a former bride myself, I understand the importance of every little detail. I planned my own wedding and that can be overwhelming. Once we finished decorating the venue, I just set back to admired it. I want to create a magical atmosphere that reflects the couples unique style.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
How did you get where you are today. My aunt and mom from Chesterland Ohio ,always had holiday parties and wedding at both of their houses .. My aunt had a flower company in her basement , she would create flowers for events. I was always the helper for setting up .

I am most excited about coming up events Today’s Bride Show, I will be a vendor this coming Jan 27th.

Overcoming challenges? Being a Black own – women owned business in Cleveland my goal is to network different events and charities around Cleveland /Akron area and recommend others vendors, venues , along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First stop of the day would be Duck Donuts in Pinecrest they have many different designs and drizzle for your taste bud. A donut breakfast sandwich if you want to be creative with it.

Next stop Downtown Cleveland on scooters adventuring all around Cleveland. From whiskey island, to West Bank of the flats to playhouse square .

Then end up at Pins Mechanical Co on W 25 they have a chill vibe with old school games like hookie , my favorite is the arcade . They also have refreshing drinks at the bar to start your pre-game for the night.

If your looking for a patio or indoor scene for food, I recommend Jade sushi bar . Different various of food to eat on different levels .

End the night around the west bank of the flats . Multiple bars to go to all in one location. Head out to West sixth street to patio bars and rooftop parties for that midnight rush before heading home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
