We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Fackler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson I have learned from starting our wedding venue and Christmas tree farm is to believe in yourself! When you get an idea and you want to pursue it, you must take action and begin your journey. Every day, you must take steps of action to get to where you want to go. God gives you these ideas, He gives each one of us a purpose and when we find it, we must follow that path and live the life we were created for. There will be very hard days, days when you want to quit, however if you believe in yourself, you will find the discipline to keep going forward. These struggles are here to make you the person you are intended to be! Hardships make you stronger! You find out that you are capable of so much more! People set goals, however they need to set them higher ~ we are capable of a lot more than we think. You will have people that don’t believe in you or doubt you and the work you are doing, JUST KEEP BELIEVING IN YOURSELF! WORK HARD AND TAKE ACTION!

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
We have created and built everything at our venue and farm by ourselves ~ This is what sets us apart from everyone else! We pay attention to small details and we pay attention to people ~ This is what we are most proud of! Some days were very hard, however we believed in our purpose, our goal and we continued to figure out how to make it work and we took action. My husband first bought our original 10 acres of land just 1 year out of high school! It was a field, nothing like it is today, there was not even a driveway on the property. For the last 25 years, we have created and built our family, our home and now over the past 3 years, we have built our venue where couples begin their new journey together. And just this past year, we were fortunate to be able to purchase 12 acres adjacent to our existing 10 acres, where we started our Christmas tree farm on bare ground! There is also a 3 acre wetland on the property where we are working on bringing in more wildlife. We have also started creating another building that will be very unique and will be like no other. We have made some incredible connections along our journey and these connections have made our lives richer. We have been blessed by some pretty amazing people!
My husband and I work together as a team. We listen to each other, we talk to each other and we figure out how to make things work together. We are each other’s biggest supporter and we will continue to cheer each other on. We will continue to create and build our area, following God’s words and living our lives for Him.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We live out in a rural area and our venue is a very secluded piece of property ~ This is what I would share with them! I would show them the peacefulness, the quiet, the beauty in just this little piece of God’s creation. We would watch the sun rise and the sunset over the open field. I would show them how we like to live in a slowed down pace and connect with our family. When we go to “town”, it would be Montpelier or Bryan. We rarely go to larger cities ~ that is a much hurried pace of life that we can do without. We love our quiet life, we like to focus on what we are doing and we like to create. We have built this place that we love so much, that we rarely like to leave!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our two sons ~ JT and Eli Fackler, they have made me want to be better and we are showing them that when you work hard, you can have anything. There are 3 podcasts that I listen to regularly and have learned tremendously from ~ Real AF with Andy Frisella, The Ed Mylett Show and Mosaic with Erwin McManus. I love reading books written by authors that have created something big in their life, including John O’Leary, David Goggins, Tim S. Grover, John C. Maxwell, Don Miguel Ruiz, Jen Sincero and many more.
