We had the good fortune of connecting with Logan Baldauf and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Logan, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I have most definitely developed some kind of “Red Shoes” condition regarding my work life balance. Through school and independent work my schedule has become consumed by just wanting to make more and more art; mostly for the sake of developing my skills but also its virtually fused with my social life!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My fashion design pieces are a study of the body in a way I hadn’t previously focused on in my ‘traditional’ works.

Aesthetically I had always been curious as to how I can bridge the gap in the work I produced per medium. How can I satisify the need to experiment whilst acknowledging tradition, or how can I just do something completely different in my work so I make a fresh slate to work off? I took a lot of time, additionally, examining the work of designers and artists alike to see how they achieved that goal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d say for starters the trip has to have shopping incorporated, I always love looking around at Magpie Market or The Greater Columbus Antique Mall

For Lunch we’d probably go to Belle’s Bread or 4th & State, and the evenings would have to consist of either Awol or The Oracle.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I truly would not be able to pursue my work without the immense support and guidence of my family. And additionally I also want to give recognition to the exceedingly talented friends I have made in Columbus since coming here, without them I would not have been able to continue creating with confidence.
