Meet Makayla Yarman | Hair stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Makayla Yarman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Makayla, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I pursued this career because I loved the idea of always getting to be creative and make people feel beautiful inside and out. I love how everyday is different.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what set us “hairstylist’s” apart is that we don’t only get to do hair. We get to form relationships with all our clients , we get to make people’s days better and make them feel beautiful! I am proud that I get to continue forming relationships with my clients and help them feel better about themselves. I had to learn to give myself grace and grow in confidence. It was not easy but this career has changed my life and made me so much more confident. I have learned to never give up being in this industry and always stay true to yourself. I just want to always make others feel loved and beautiful and I love being able to form relationships with all my clients .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely start with a cute little coffee shop. I love anything with caramel in it! I love going on walks and just enjoying nature and seeing all the beauty in the world. I would definitely take my friends to cute little boutiques, I love supporting local businesses and I always feel that boutiques have the cutest stuff . We would end the night with a place that has fun music and a great atmosphere that has to serve pizza and mozzarella sticks 🤩

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my mom for encouraging me to go into this industry. Next my boss Geri Good! She has always supported me and made me feel so welcome at work. It was so important for me to find a place that felt like a home away from home and I definitely feel that at Bellezza Avanti.
