We had the good fortune of connecting with Marissa Fuline & Casey Lemieux and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marissa Fuline & Casey Lemieux, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We are two creative people that had been working in similar jobs in the corporate world. We both realized that we wanted to help more people than just the ones we had been working with at the time. There was a huge need for social media strategy and content creation for business owners and entrepreneurs and we were passionate about these amazing people and businesses showing up and attracting their dream clients. It developed for us very naturally because we had been friends for four years and would constantly bounce ideas off of each other and seek advice. It occurred to us that we would be able to easily come together as trusted business partners. And, we were right!

What should our readers know about your business?
At The Scoop Creative, we thrive on empowering and equipping other entrepreneurs to show up on social media in a powerful way. Meanwhile, creating community and changing their lives. We are most proud of the fact that we created this business with no business experience and exceeded expectations and projections within our first two years of business. We take a lot of pride in being female entrepreneurs and having our own podcast which continues to grow. Our clients constantly renew and express their appreciation for us and our services- there are not many things we love more than hearing that!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Marissa’s Favorites If you’re looking to get amazing sushi in Columbus, try Domo, a new sushi restaurant in the Short North. My favorite place to take visitors is Bridgepark in Dublin. There are so many fun events, restaurants, and shops. Make sure you grab a coffee from Sweetwater and some ice cream from Kilwins!

Casey’s Favorites
Some of my favorite places in Columbus are the many beautiful metro parks for going on hikes, eating Ice cream at Graeter’s, attending Columbus Blue Jackets and Clippers Games, and shopping and eating at Easton Town Center.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to shout out our parents, family, and friends who have been an integral part of our success. Our parents and families made us the people that we are, our friends supported us along the way, and our community has been a foundation for our success. They all deserve all of the credit in the world!
