Meet Michelob Williamson | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelob Williamson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michelob, how do you think about risk?
When you don’t have much to lose in life there’s not much risk. The only way we can truly get experience in life is by taking risks. Of course they say the bigger the risk the bigger the reward, so I only take the risks that I can take for the time being without completely destroying myself. I compare taking risks to being drunk, you’re kinda making blind decisions, so do so responsibly haha. Don’t just take risks in your career though take risks in life too, because changing one small area of your life can ripple to other areas. Take that new job offer, close a deal on a house,go date that dream girl of yours. Don’t hold yourself back.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m going to sorta answer everything here at once. My main full-time job I’m an amateur chef at best probably. I’ve just been working at Wendy’s for now to fund my music. It’s rough but it pays the bills for now. The plus side is I experience people in all different kinds of ways and I always get to know what it is people want to hear musically. The challenge is just work life balance on top of music. It’s like working 2 full-time jobs and it really drains you. The fact I still have energy to be able to be creative is nothing short of a miracle.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh God a question like this really isn’t my strong suit. I’m more of a homebody. I mean, I’d say if a friend came to visit I’d be showing them some local parks and outdoor scenery. I’m really not about the city too much. It’s either that or we would check out any local festivals because who doesn’t love festivals? Cincinnati is known for a few like the Ohio Renaissance Festival or the WEBN fireworks. I don’t do bars, but we would definitely have a cook out. I like tradition.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d have to dedicate my shout-out to my manager and friend Philip Terry aka Phantom. When I was first introduced to him by a mutual friend of ours things were definitely rough on my end. I was coming out of a dark place and had no guidance whatsoever. He was very patient with me as it took me years to finally establish myself structure
