Meet Miranda Goddard | President, Deep Field xp

We had the good fortune of connecting with Miranda Goddard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miranda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Deep Field came out of need back in 2020. Live music came to a halt, and a void was left in its place. We started with an event called Serendipity at that time to allow space for our community to heal through live music. Eventually that grew into what is now Deep Field.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Deep Field is a women run collective, focused on highlighting the sounds of the underground and honoring true underground culture. A passion for the music and creating a safe experience for our attendees are the forefront of our values. It has not been an easy task creating space for niche underground techno in Columbus, but with our dedicated team and passionate fans, we have carved that space out for a growing community. Deep Field will continue to put the music and our community first.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Columbus has so much to offer it’d be hard even in a week to showcase our city! For eats I would definitely say 4th and State, Bendi Wok & Bar, Thai Grille (Westerville), and Zencha Cafe. Some of favorite cocktail bars I highly recommend checking out are Denmark, Mouton, and Bottle Shop. Columbus’ schedule is filled with many shows and concerts regularly, but I wouldn’t miss Headcleaner or BioHazard. Be sure to keep an eye on the schedule at The Summit Music hall – they consistently showcase niche sounds. There’s also a lot of nature here, a coffee at Goodale park or Franklin Park conservatory always hits the spot.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to honor those that have supported us through our journey; The Crates Collective (Chris Karlyn, TJ Beckett, Wes Trinh, Richie Tel, Mike Dow), Rich St. Records (Carl Newman), 934 Gallery, The Autonomy Project, ReCharge, The Summit Music Hall, Alchemy Sessions, BeLouderGroup, Joey Pigg (VJ Vendetta), Carl Raponi (Glider), Sam Gwin (The Secret), Walking & Falling, Terra Nova Productions, Sidestage Collective, Erie Sounds, Milo B, Sky Lab Gallery, and the many fans who give our project meaning.
