Hi Miz, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?

On my business:
As I contemplated the future of my photography business, I turned inward to seek spiritual guidance and clarity. Through deep introspection and meditation, I connected with my inner wisdom and the divine spark within me. In moments of uncertainty, I listened to the whispers of my soul, which echoed a profound sense of purpose and fulfillment in my photographic journey. Each photograph became more than a capture of light; it was an expression of my soul’s longing to create and inspire. Amid challenges, I leaned into faith, trusting that the universe was guiding me towards alignment with my true calling. Ultimately, I chose to persevere, knowing that my photography was not just a business but a sacred pathway to share beauty, evoke emotion, and illuminate the world with the essence of my spirit.

On my life:
In the depths of my soul, I sought guidance on whether to persevere or surrender. Through meditation and introspection, I connected with a higher wisdom beyond doubt and fear. Amidst challenges, I discovered that true alignment comes from honoring the divine spark within. With unwavering faith and resilience, I chose to continue, trusting in the unfolding of my spiritual path. Each step forward became a sacred affirmation of my soul’s purpose, reminding me that the decision to persevere was a profound act of self-empowerment and spiritual growth.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

My journey in photography has been a testament to perseverance and creative resilience. When I first entered the profession, it was predominantly male-dominated, presenting numerous challenges along the way for me. However, I refused to conform to norms and instead embraced my spirit and creative inspiration to carve out a distinct path for Miz J Photography. What sets my work apart is the emotional depth and storytelling woven into every photograph. Each image is a reflection of my passion and vision, capturing moments that evoke profound connections and stir the soul.

I am incredibly proud of the growth and evolution of my brand, Miz J Photography, which stands as a testament to patience, faith, and unwavering drive. Overcoming obstacles and learning valuable lessons along the way has been humbling and empowering. I am excited about the impact my photography has had on others, inspiring them to be confident in themselves to pursue their dreams with courage and resilience. As I continue to share my story and artistry with the world, I hope to ignite a spark of creativity, balance, self-love, and possibility in others, showing that with dedication and passion, anything is achievable.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our beautiful city Columbus Ohio, offers a diverse array of attractions, food, and destinations to explore. To me the best spots to go and visit are the following: The Scioto Mile because as a photographer the scenic riverfront park featuring trails, fountains, and green spaces. are stunning along with the views of the downtown skyline.Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens again as a photographer the lush indoor gardens and outdoor landscapes that displays a variety of plant species is absolutely beautiful. As far as food goes I would say: Brassica it’s fresh clean eating, True Food kitchen is great, also fresh clean eating, 4th & State has great amazing vegan pizza, and lastly Northstar Cafe has great breakfast and lunch options. As you can see it’s not too many places, because I don’t really go out much here in Columbus, but I truly enjoy my favorite spots outside of my city, while traveling for work and internationally because of the authentic tastes and beautiful culture.

Reflecting on my journey and the milestones I’ve achieved, I am filled with profound gratitude for the incredible individuals and divine guidance that have shaped my path. My mentors, including luminaries like D. Blanks, Gordon Parks, Alfred Battle, Naton(Flix), and Stephen Midgett, have imparted wisdom, inspiration, and invaluable lessons that have fueled my growth as a photographer and entrepreneur. My main support system my parents and sister that have unwavering love for me, along with a large number of my immediate family, and closest friends that are more like family: A.Hood,Niderra Malone, S.Kendall, P.Wilson, Marcus & Jessica Raney, Jermaine & Mary Jenkins, JaMez Aloha, Maria Crews-Parker, Shaniqua Ingol, Kyri Moore, Shyhiem Pace, Bobby Couch, the late Boogthebandit, lists goes on. I can’t forget a host of amazing models that have been the bedrock of my journey, providing strength during both triumphs and challenges. To my dedicated clients, companies, brands, and organizations that took a chance on me, I am deeply thankful for your trust and collaboration, which have allowed me to express my creativity and pursue my passion. And above all, I acknowledge the divine hand of God, whose grace and guidance have orchestrated every step of my success. I stand where I am today because of the collective support, mentorship, opportunities, and divine blessings that have illuminated my path, and for this, I am truly blessed and grateful.
