Meet Natasha, Taelor Hollweck, Reese | Hairstylist, artist, dog moms, boy mom, college student

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha, Taelor Hollweck, Reese and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natasha, Taelor, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Consistency. Consistency is key along with passion, and not holding back when it comes to our freedom of expression! With how the algorithm works anymore, constantly posting on our socials, and attending various events in the Midwest helps with reaching our targeted audience.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Taelor and I have been best friends since the 3rd grade. Our friendship followed us long into adulthood. Taelor has worked at an art store for quite sometime, and was wanting to experiment with various art mediums. Her co worker suggested trying resin, as she dabbles in it herself. Taelor came over to my place and we both started to experiment with resin. This was a long time coming for me, as I have been wanting to try it for a while but was always intimidated by the process and costs of materials. I would always see resin be used for majority of kawaii 3D art whenever I’d attend conventions and look through the artist alley. Impressed with the results and upon discovering our new obsession, we shook hands on our business.
Because there are two of us behind the business, we offer more art styles. Taelor enjoys making art that reflects her laid back and earthly personality with a small twist of horror. My aesthetic includes cottagecore, kawaii, and a little bit of horror as well. We both are inspired by other artists, pop culture, and mixing our aesthetics!
When it comes to running a business, there is a lot of involvement with the community. During the first year of running, we would join several local Facebook vendor groups and subreddits. Lots of do’s and dont’s on YouTube. It was a homemade guide created by several other creators in our shoes that we follow!
Not every show is meant for every artist. We’ve had mixed experiences when it came to different demographics. Year two of vending, and we are just now discovering what audience works for us. We do best at craft shows that showcase nontraditional art styles, conventions, and even bars and parties!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Cincinnati has lots to offer! As lifelong natives, we know where the hidden gems are. It is worth checking out the art museum, contemporary art museum, the union terminal, the river walk, sign museum, and the Krohn’s Conservatory! We are proud to say that our iconic, Cincinnati exclusive dishes include Gold Star and Skyline chilli (chilli poured over spaghetti noodles topped with loads of cheese), La’roses Pizza, Graeter’s ice cream, and Frische’s Big boy sandwiches!
The nightlife is not a let down either! There are strips of bars in the northside area and Over The Rhine. Several are LGBTQ+ friendly, and very cultured. Tokyo Kitty is a Japanese themed bar that offers karaoke! Arcade Legacy in Sharonville is great for a gamer’s night out too!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We were fortunate enough to have an overwhelming amount of support from our family, friends, and community! Starting up a business is very costly, and with the love and support of Taelor’s mom, Lisa, we were able to make it happen! We’ve had handfuls of amazing friends showing their support and spreading the word about us and giving us projects to work on. Some of our biggest supporters include Amanda, Lex, Alyxis, Miranda, Pierce, and Kelsey! I (Tasha) would also like to mention the support from my co workers at great clips who allow me to take off work in order to run our booth. And lastly, we cannot forget the muscle behind helping us setting up and breaking down at our shows and watching our booth while we wander off to admire the work of other artists; our partners Austin & Matt!
