We had the good fortune of connecting with Nese Michelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nese, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve been a creative person my whole life. I knew pretty early on that I wanted to be an artist. I think it’s just the natural progression!! As I’ve gotten older, the amount of ways to express artistic ability and creativity have expanded. It’s truly awesome to see.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My podcast and YouTube! I have been working on being more consistent with my uploads. It takes me up to 2 days to edit a video to my liking. With my podcast, I will listen to it maybe  2 or 3 times before uploading it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think I would start by letting them get settled first. The first place I would take them is Broad Ripple Village. It’s sort of like the 90’s got frozen in time on one main road. There’s lot of foot traffic. There’s plenty to explore there. There’s an art center, bars, a comedy club, a tattoo parlor, small clothing stores and plenty of places to eat. As far as food is concerned, Thai! There’s a really quiet but hella delicious Thai restaurant a few miles north of the village. It’s very intimate, and the meals are just wonderful. Downtown has changed so much. There are so many new structures that have popped up. Honestly, we would be discovering downtown together. Just south of downtown is another art district called Fountain Square. They have an alley full of murals that are done by local artists. And of course, they have plenty of places to eat! About 15-20 minutes west of downtown, there’s an outdoor mall just outside of the city. They have place called Rocket Fizz that sells novelty candy, drinks and posters!! I think I’d have us all over the place, truthfully. Although we aren’t as big of a city as other places, we have a lot to do if you plan well enough!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, my dad! My Dad is big reason why I love drawing and painting so much.
