We had the good fortune of connecting with Nigel Hudson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nigel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I think risk are necessary for anyone who wants to be successful. To me, taking a risk for what you want shows that you’re willing to take a leap of faith. Let go and Let God take care of the rest, if you want it you gotta step for it! Taking risk for me in my career have played a huge part in the success that I’ve achieved to this point. It’s been times where I didn’t know what the outcome would be but I took the initiative, I stepped out of my comfortable zone, I took the risk that ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made with my career. If it’s money that your worried about I’d say this, it’ll be times where it’s risky to spend whatever you need to for your career but if you truly believe in yourself and what your mission is where there’s a will there’s a way! Don’t be afraid, take the necessary steps, take those risks!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my style of music, I feel like I’m one of the most versatile artist. As I grow as an artist I’ve learned that it’s best to be yourself and people will gravitate towards you being you. The demographic of my city and where I’m from my sound is a total left compared to 80% of the music in the community. I take pride in being me and being witty, using Melodie’s, using lyricism to make the listener think but also keep them engaged with a range of different sounds. You can call it ride music you can call it vibe music but one thing I will say is you’re going to enjoy the ride wherever we go! It’s been challenges as far as budget and learning what I need to do and what I’d like to do. As I grow taking risk is necessary but taking the right risks. If you really want it it’ll come but you have to put the ground work in to make that connection to make it really happen. Stay determined, stay disciplined and you’ll achieve everything you dream of!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Youngstown isn’t as big as your average cities so options may be limited but we got some spots. First off we gotta get “breakfast” so that’s a must then actual breakfast, I’d like to start off personally at Waffle House, I mean you can’t go wrong with a All Star Special. If you’re feeling lunch we have various restaurants, bar and grill spots such as the Federal, West 34. I like Mexican food above all so me I might be at Condados or El Jalapeno for the margaritas. The West Side Bowl is a venue artist perform at but also is a cool bowling alley with good food and great drinks as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The biggest shoutout is to my team of support around me! God has been the lead in my life so first and foremost! I have a supportive girlfriend, producer/ engineer Dream TK and management and extremely supportive group of peers that not only motivate but keep me on my toes because they’re also great artist and people! My manager Q, CEO and founder of Quality Too Good Management has elevated my career in a span of 7 months. Together I’ve grown from the knowledge given to me and by always being ready to work. Shoutout to every city that books me as well. It started with Portsmouth, Ohio around November 2023 and it’s been love ever since, the connection with the people there is something that elevated my performances.
