We had the good fortune of connecting with Primal USA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Primal, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Panama City Beach, FL. My background is sometimes hard to talk about. but the way I grew up gets the opportunity to speak through my music often. The darker more aggressive energy in some of my sound design really showcases some of the more painful things that speak through my creative.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Making electronic music is a whole lot of fun, but hand in hand hard work. Attention to detail becomes so important and tedious but worth it in your craft within this industry. It took quite a while for me to get this far, and I’m NOBODY! I still have so far to go! There has been cakewalks, and there has been hardships. But the hardships mold you into the artist you are today. I use my depression and anxiety to channel that into my creativity. To use it to speak through my music and hopefully someone who needs to hear it, will when they need to; and soon enough revisit it because they want to! Lessons i’ve learned along the way? Man, to be humble, always network, know your worth, don’t let someone discount your art, not everyone is going to like your art; those are just a few. what I want the world to know about my story and my brand, is that you have a place in this life, and you can be whatever you want to be. so go out there and DO IT!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Man, if I had some friends coming to the Cincinnati area; I’m pulling out all the stops! Going to take them down to the banks, Reds or Bengals game depending on the season; stop into Tin Roof for a cold beer and Music from Kombat and the boys. Afterwards, dinner at Olla in Covington. Trip to the museum and cocktails in Mainstrausse! If you’re going out around town with me, I’m sure you’ll have a great time!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are several people in my life that have greatly contributed to my growth. First and foremost my Wife, Meghan. Without her none of this would be possible. there are four other people that have stood next to me every step of the way, so Ryan, Ryan, Logan, and Mallory super big ups to them as well. Lastly, Top Tier Productions made it possible to play with some artists I at that point wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to play with. So cheers to them always and forever.
