We had the good fortune of connecting with Qwavaise Sneed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Qwavaise, what role has risk played in your life or career?
It’s played a major role honestly. A lot of people doubted me for taking those risks too. My first major tour with a bookie I paid him to make sure it was set in stone. Didn’t even know the guy. Everyday after I prayed that it wasn’t a scam. Once it was time to get the tickets for the show I was nervous too. That as soon as I show up to this stadium I wouldn’t have what I came there for. And boom next thing I know I’m on tour with Wiz Khalifa. It’s made me take more risks… Smart risks but definitely more!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So I started off as a dancer at 14, shortly after I made it on MTV. Graduating high school I went to college and chased music full time along with a. Culinary arts background. Once I came home it was settle down have a family and figure out “what’s next” It’s been an amazing journey figuring that out every day since then. It’s pretty hard balancing the music lifestyle with your love life. The temporary people the people who just want from you. I’ve met a lot of people in the time of this journey and I’ve lost a lot of people the very same. I always want the world to know that my brand is me the way I am with people has always been me even when the kindness is taken for weakness the good always prevails. It’s still love to everyone even the ones who aren’t here anymore.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely Thompson House. It’s like I’m not the man there but I’m like the man there. I got some great friendships I’ve made there. The owner Cameron Kidwell is an amazing guy who’s taught me a lot too not just in the sense of business but about life as well. It’s been some pretty wild nights. Plus it’s a music venue so what better way to show my buddy a good time right? The same stage I jump on is the same stage as many great national artists he listen to on a daily basis

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d have to give credit to Kyle Otto. In the past few years he’s helped me develop a sound that’s original and unique. Where other engineers and producers just wanted my money he actually gives me his opinion and that’s something I truly value.
