We had the good fortune of connecting with Rah-sheen Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rah-Sheen, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Nothing stood out to me on career day at school. Fireman, no. Police officer, hell no. Doctor, too much stress. President, as if id WANT to run this country.. When i was a freshman in high-school, one night while walking home listening to J.cole i realized i could really do this rap stuff. I already had a good singing voice so, the thought to become a musician kinda fell into place from there. It wasn’t till my senior year was when i really locked in and started taking the steps to my goals. At first I pursed to just be big but now i wanna leave a mark in hip-hop history. Change narratives and inspire people in the same way my favorite artist inspire me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My dad is half the reason i wanted to become a musician kinda fell artist, especially with all of the rapping i do. I have this unique sound that’s original to me yet familiar enough to connect to. I get compared to so many artists due to my range. Ive been compared to: Tyler the creator, Smino, Kendrick, Daniel Caesar, Drake, Childish Gambino, and so many others. I’ve been making music since my freshman year of college, so basically going on 4 years now and the thing I’m most proud of is the growth. I get better with each release, i just have to work on my marketing and promotion. Recently i’ve gotten over the fear of looking foolish on social media so thats gonna take me far for sure. A major lesson i learned was to not fall victim to being a machine to the system. Doing everything thats trendy to get validation will get you nowhere. Truly being yourself will get you the results you seek. When my time comes i want everyone to know that the kid from Cleveland that everyone doubted can make a difference by being himself and RAHKing out. I want to be able to give back to the neighborhood or should i say neighborhoods i’ve lived in because they all have shaped me into the man i am today and the artist that i’ve become. I want the world to know that real stars are made in Cleveland. I was made (and raised) in Cleveland.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I really like to go to the gym, studio, to go hoop, church, swimming, trampoline parks and so on. I love to go to Algebra Teahouse on Tuesdays for taco Tuesday. I love going to Capo steaks for a cheesesteak or chicken philly. Angela mias or Geracis for pizza. I like to go to edgewater to watch the sunset or rise and as far fun stuff to do im a hermit so i hangout with my friends at their place or mine. Im working on getting out of the house more though. I do touch grass. Im not fully house locked i just don’t go anywhere. I perfer to travel and do fun stuff. I just came back from Turks and Caicos and ill be damned if i ever spend $506 dollars on groceries ever again. People think just cause you rich you got to buy “rich” people shit. Thats how you go broke. (Free game)
