Meet RAY CARR | Radio host, DJ, emcee and public address announcer.

We had the good fortune of connecting with RAY CARR and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi RAY, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I feel putting my best effort into everything I do is the most important principle. Give 100% all the time, be on time, prepared and knowledgeable. I feel it’s imperative for me to gather as much information on every guest that I interview, because success is the result of preparation, and it shows respect to all my guests.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a Radio Host, Emcee, DJ and Public Address Announcer…it’s been very challenging honing my craft in pursuit of excellence. Overcoming the fear of public speaking and anxiety took years of hard work and dedication. I won the award for Cleveland’s Favorite Radio Host of the Year for 2022, which was one of the greatest moments of my life, the culmination of four decades of hard work finally recognized.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to see the Metroparks; Edgewater to name one, the obvious attractions: Progressive Field, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Cleveland Museum of Art, Severance Hall and Beachland Ballroom. Two restaurants I would go to are Gunselman’s Tavern in Fairview Park and Guarino’s in Little Italy.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My initial inspirations include my Mother, who was very supportive and always believed in my talents, former Cleveland Cavaliers Broadcaster Joe Tait, because he painted the perfect mental picture on the radio, and Larry King, a former national radio & TV interviewer, because his direct conversational style and incredible command of words is the basis of how I approach my job. Current shoutouts include my Co-Host, Cindi Verbelun, who has been with me for 13 years, and helps keep my show running as best it can, and George Sipl, an award-winning Musician, Writer and Audio Engineer and Rich Spina, Singer/Songwriter/Musician, both of whom have inspired me to develop into the best I can be at my craft.
