We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Kondrich and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I had been working in medical social worker for 4 years and recognized that there was more that people need beyond the quick check ins. I wanted to offer deeper connection and work 1:1 with individuals. I also wanted to create a schedule and life that worked with my growing family. With the support of other private practice therapists I took the leap to build a private practice for myself. It was important to me to use my education and be home for my daughter. Six years later and I am so proud of the practice I have build and the way I am able to drive my daughter to school every day.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Building a business has been the most rewarding and challenging experience. It is important to me to show up in alignment with my values every day within my business and brand. I am a social worker and yoga teacher. I pride myself on meeting people where they are with integrity, empathy, inclusion and self-compassion. I have been honored to serve over 100 women in the Cleveland area with therapy, hypnotherapy, sound healing, coaching and yoga. I shifted from my medical social work job because I knew I needed not only autonomy in my own schedule but the ability to humanize the challenges my patients were facing. I built the support system within my community that has continued to keep my practice full with word of mouth referrals. This was not easy, as a therapy private practice has a set of ethics set apart from many other businesses. I found it challenging to find some business organizations that understood my unique business and ethical code. So in 2018 I created my own support meet of for women in private practice. One big lesson I incorporate in my business and with the women I serve is trusting your intuition. Because I trusted myself and went outside of my comfort zone I have been able to witness the liberation and healing of 100s of women. It is a deep honor and privilege I do not take for granted. My empathy and ability to hold space for grief, pain and a vast array of emotional experiences is what has set me apart. My clients are able to open up and talk out loud about things they never have. I am blessed to be able to show up and do this work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We are so lucky in Cleveland to have some amazing restaurants and most of all our beautiful lake front. Not to mention the Islands! I quite enjoy Kelley’s Island and would love to make a long summer weekend of heading out on the ferry. But if we are heading closer to town, then we would sit at Summer Place for Brunch. We would grab a coffee from Root Cafe and head out to the Solstice Steps.

I love popping into Nature’s Oasis and Lion and Blue. For a special gem we would make a trip to Oceane. Our city has so many great spots it is hard to imagine hitting them all.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely. Cameron Plagens was and is a cheerleader for women who wish to grow spiritually, emotionally, & mentally. She encouraged me to leap into my private practice and has been a treasure to our community.
