We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Maxwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
A core value that I try to uphold within personal and business is to always treat others with respect and dignity. The first thing that people will remember about you is how you treated them and people want to support people that are kind to them. The Girl’s Room’s policy is “All are welcome here” and we mean that.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Both of my businesses require a certain amount of creativity that I feel so lucky to possess. As someone who likes to do it all alone, it definitely has not been easy but has been so rewarding to watch all of my hard work and random ideas actually come to life. Every single event has been a learning experience in one way or another and I am so thankful to be learning these lessons along the way to make me better. To be successful, you must go in knowing that you do not know it all and be willing to learn.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting town I would take them to grab coffee at Lionheart Coffee and take a walk through the beautiful arcades, we would walk over to Heinens and grab some sushi to go and go down to sit at my favorite grassy area by the river. We would go to Fat Cats and split a bunch of appetizers before heading over to Thirst Parrot before a Guardians game and finish the night dancing at Goodnight Johnboy. There’s so many fun pockets of neighborhoods in Cleveland, you can’t really go wrong exploring any of them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The women I am so lucky to call my friends. Their kindness and openness to others has truly inspired my business and brand as a whole. They are the ones who helped me bring this vision to life.
