Meet Reuben Grote | Cincinnati based Electronic DJ & Music Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Reuben Grote and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Reuben, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
Professionally, my end game (not by Taylor Swift) is to be able to do what I do best creatively and have no one stop me from doing it. I live in an age where it seems so many people doubt and challenge my/anyones beliefs, and I hope to live in a day and age where that doesn’t happen.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an Electronic DJ & Music Producer based in the city that probably does sleep: Cincinnati. I was born and raised in a non music family in downtown, and have lived in the Blue Ash & Montgomery areas since I was 6. I have always had some sort of passion/desire for music of all forms, from how music is created, to mixing music, and everything in between.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Favorite spots in the city would be most of Clifton, as its an exciting place with one of the best music colleges in the country, mainly Habanero on ludlow, one of the best taco places in the entire city. There’s also the suburbs, with great places like the previously mentioned Hanson, and there’s downtown with almost endless things to do or see down there. No matter what, gotta get some Penn Station!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A company that deserves recognition, and a company I want to work at some day is Hanson Audio Video in Southwest Ohio. Hanson is a store that specializes in Hi-Fi Audio & Home Entertainment/Automation. The guys there are super respectful, helpful, insightful, pretty much any positive verb to describe someone, thats who they are.
