We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Kane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am the mother of a 21 year old daughter with Koolen De Vries Syndrome. This is a very rare chromosomal disorder that affects her development and cognitive ability. She graduated from high school and there wasn’t much for her to do. This idea came about one night when my family and I were playing board games. Together we decided it would be an awesome business where we could help individuals with different abilities find a place where they could be appreciated, safe and included in their lives.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have had many jobs in my life, from being a Criminal Investigator to a Photographer. None of them compare to being a mother. It has be the most challenging, and most rewarding job in my life. It fills my heart with pleasure to know that three of my four children are out in the world doing good. Because of that, I now have time to focus on helping my child who needs the help by starting a nonprofit encouraged by her.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have to say we would spend some time at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Depending on the season I would make sure to take them to a ball game. One of my favorite places in Cleveland are the Metorparks.
I love to eat at restaurants that are local. One of my favorites is Brunos on West 41st in Cleveland and Dewey’s pizza in Lakewood.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout would. be to my family. My husband, children and extended family have been supportive our my efforts in bringing I’m Possible Games to reality. If it wasn’t for all of them I would still be trying to figure it all out. Another shoutout goes to the friends who have been there to help us figure out if the physical space we look at is right for us.
