Meet Ron Fowler | Professional Clown

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ron Fowler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ron, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ron Fowler aka Flower Clown began almost on whim. I was working as an electrical engineer at the former Powerhouse in downtown Cleveland in the early 90’s. There was a clown that used to come in and make balloons for patrons. I loved watching him create! I went and bought some balloons to start teaching myself this talent. I used my lung power to inflate the balloons because I did not know they made hand pumps. I finally bought a pump, and it really took off from there. I started doing parties for friends and family, working at bars & restaurants in The Flats on tips. People saw me and wanted to hire me for their events. So, after 2 years, I quit my electrical engineering job and began clowning as a professional going full time in 2020.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love what I do first and foremost. To bring fun, laughter and smiles to Cleveland families is the favorite part of my “job”. I like to say that I haven’t worked a day since 2020 because I get paid to have fun! What could be better!!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Tommy’s on Coventry (because I work there and they have the best milkshakes in town!), Cedar Point, our amazing museums.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife, Stacy Kern-Fowler, needs to be recognized. She runs the entertainment agency, working with clients to bring the best entertainer to their event.
