Meet Roneesha Ocloo | Ecommerce Email Marketing Strategist & Ecommerce Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Roneesha Ocloo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roneesha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
That’s a great question! I’ve always had the mindset of an entrepreneur, but for a long time, it was something I pursued on the side. My first real experience in business started in 2013 with network marketing. By 2019, I knew I wanted to leave my job to run my own business full-time because I was completely unfulfilled. I was working 10-hour shifts, four days a week, and sometimes even six days during busy seasons. Eventually, I stopped caring about hitting daily quotas, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I’d be let go. In fact, I was expecting it for a while—I even asked my boss about it and followed up with HR to speed up the process! When it finally happened in October 2023, I didn’t look back. I dove headfirst into my e-commerce email marketing agency, and it’s been the best decision I’ve made.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart is that I create strategies specifically for e-commerce brands that may not have the budget for a full team or expensive, high-ticket services. I teach them how to fish for themselves. A lot of these business owners get overlooked because they aren’t at a certain revenue level yet, but that doesn’t mean they should be left out of accessing game-changing strategies.
What makes me most proud is that when I first started this journey as an e-commerce email marketing strategist, I was self-taught through trial and error in my own business. When I eventually sought mentorship from other e-commerce experts, I realized the same strategies they were teaching were ones I had already figured out—and I had the results to back it up. That gave me a huge confidence boost, confirming that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. This is my God-given assignment.
I’ve gotten to where I am today by being a servant leader, telling my clients and students the real, honest truth about their businesses so they can grow. Being a servant leader to me means giving people what they need to hear, not just what they want to hear. My vision is way bigger than just me it’s about pushing others toward their best potential and creating real, lasting impact. When they level up, it’s a win for both of us, and that’s what drives me every day.
Not at all! It’s been a journey full of challenges and learning curves. There were definitely moments where I had to push through self-doubt, late nights, and figuring things out the hard way. But every setback was a lesson, and it’s those tough moments that helped me grow. The truth is, building something real and impactful takes time, effort, and resilience but it’s all worth it in the end.
Not at all! It’s been a ride full of challenges and lessons. There were plenty of moments where I had to push through self-doubt, late nights, and figuring things out the hard way. But every setback taught me something valuable and helped me grow. When it comes to overcoming challenges, I face them head-on. I know they’re always going to show up, but I don’t let them stop me I walk right through because I know it’s only temporary. That mindset keeps me pushing forward, no matter what.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to put myself before the business. There’s this saying, ‘Success loves speed,’ and people often think that means everything has to happen fast—as if slow or steady isn’t a speed, too. I’ve seen brand owners push themselves to the point of burnout, landing in the hospital or worse because they put the business above their own health. Not me. I’ve learned that boundaries are key. I can wait until business hours to respond to a message, or recognize when it’s time to let a complicated client go. My well-being comes first, because if I’m not good, neither is the business.
I want the world to know that my brand is built on authenticity, resilience, and service. I’m not here just to teach email marketing; I’m here to help e-commerce brands, especially those that feel overlooked, create lasting success with strategies that work, no matter their size. My story is all about turning trials into triumphs and knowing that every challenge is temporary. I’ve built this business from the ground up, and it’s my mission to empower others to do the same. This is more than a business for me it’s a purpose, and I’m walking in it every day.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I’m still figuring out the city myself! I’m originally from Gary, Indiana, and moved to Ohio in 2017, so if my best friend came to visit, we’d probably be scrolling through Instagram trying to find all the cool spots. We’d definitely check out some new restaurants, maybe grab brunch at a cute café, and explore the local food scene. I’d love to hit up some art galleries or local shops, and we’d probably end the day finding a new spot to chill. Ohio has so much to offer, and I’m still discovering all the hidden gems
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! Success is never a solo journey, and I’ve been fortunate to have a strong support system along the way. First and foremost, I have to shout out my family and friends for their unwavering encouragement—they’ve always believed in my vision, even during the toughest times. I also want to shout out Jaqueline Davis, Roz Haynes-Summerlin, and William Mitchell. Each of them made such a positive impact on me when I was a youth, and parts of me were able to heal because of their mentorship, kindness, and love. Their influence helped shape who I am today.
On the business side, I’d recommend reading ‘Uncloned Marketing’ by Audria Richmond. It’s a game-changer for anyone looking to stand out in the marketing world
