We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Schoenbeck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always wanted to be my own boss. After graduating HVAC school, the goal was always to start my own business and be able to lead a team. Right out of school I was offered and opportunity to be a part of an already established company. After putting in almost 10 years with them, the owner decided he wanted to retire. He offered the company to me stating he thought I would be a great fit to take on his legacy. I since have purchased that business and now am full owner with the same great team on my side!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business has been a long standing community staple for over 40 years. While I have not owned the company for that long, I have been apart of it for the last 12. What sets us apart is how we treat our customers. They are extended family. We are never trying to just make money off of them. We truly care about them, their homes, their stories and how they view us as a company.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some fun things to do in Medina would defiantly be walking around the historic square downtown. It has a ton of small shops and restaurants all while keeping that historic value in mind.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The previous owner of the company that I bought definitely helped shape me to be the owner I am today. The biggest shouty out of course would be to my family. Their support through this process has been the constant guiding light through all the ups and downs of being a business owner.
