Meet Sabrina Bollinger | Concert Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina Bollinger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabrina, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
What makes me happy, is being in places with a sense of belonging. Whether that be in the comfort of mother nature- wandering her vast curves and hills. Or being in the middle of a pit, surrounded by people who connect to music the way I do. I love being in places that give me a sense that I belong, I think everyone does.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In my life, I’ve faced so many challenges and trials, as most have. But the one thing I always came back to was art. Specifically photography. The way you can capture moments and memories in a little device and share them with the people you love or even have as a memory log of who you are and where you’ve been has always been special to me. This has pushed me in my career to be where I am today. tying to capture the moments of joy that musicians get to share with people from all around the world. It’s a very special job. There have been countless challenges in this field of work that are hard to overcome. I’ve always just put on a brave face and tried to make the best out of whatever situation I end up in. It’s worked out pretty alright so far. The biggest thing I’ve learned is to never forget your backup SD cards and to lean on the people around you when you need them. Countless times have I ended up at a show without earplugs and there’s always been a person there with extras. If you’re that person, I sincerely thank you, you’re very important in the concert scene.
That being said, I think the biggest thing I want people to know about me and who I am as a creator, is that I just try things. I never would have gotten where I am today without jumping headfirst off the deep end and getting into this without any plan or any idea of what I’m doing. I’m constantly evolving, learning, and supporting those around me.
If you forget where you’ve been you’ll never remember where you’re going.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love love love our public parks and recreation centers. We’d probably hang out at PINs, and then go walk around one of our many public parks. Not forgetting to stop by Greaters for a double scoop of buckeye blitz in a waffle cone.
If there’s a show going on, We’d stop by Donato’s Basement, the birthplace of many shows that I’ve covered. Or check out A&R Music Bar.
Maybe have dinner at HC Way-my favorite Chinese chain in Columbus. And maybe even stop and see a movie at the Marcus theaters.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The community that Daniel Macadangdang has built through his reach on Instagram is single-handedly one of the sole contributors to my success story. Without the people in his Discord server, I’d still be a concert newbie trying to find my way in a vast and ever-changing world of concert photography.
