We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Zbikowski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sam, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of Dahlia Skincare is simple. The passion that I have for skin health and self-care is what drives me to always seek new ways to provide our clients with quality products and rejuvenating results that last. Our products are made with natural, plant-based ingredients with naturally occurring vibrant colors, scents, and textures that make daily routines a delightful experience. Our skincare tools are made with real, ethically and sustainably sourced crystals that are intentionally chosen to enhance our clients’ daily self-care rituals. Every aspect of Dahlia Skincare is intentional and driven by the passion that I have as an esthetician.
What should our readers know about your business?
At Dahlia Skincare, we believe in more than just skincare – we believe in a ritual of self-love, rooted in carefully designed and formulated products that nurture, hydrate, repair, and support the skin’s natural barrier function. Our commitment to cruelty-free, plant-based products made from all natural, ethically, and sustainably sourced ingredients and developed by an esthetician are all things that set us apart in the beauty industry.
In 2015, my journey in the beauty industry began with a passion to address a significant gap – the absence of sustainable, natural, and effective skincare solutions. Fueled by a vision where clean skincare is not a luxury but a right, Dahlia Skincare was formed. The path to where we are today was far from easy. As challenges present, we learn the importance of adaptability, staying rooted in our values, and the significance of genuine connections with our clients. We overcome hurdles by staying true to our commitment to quality, clean, affordable, and eco-conscious skincare.
Dahlia Skincare is proudly plant-based, cruelty-free, and made in small batches. We embrace sustainability in every aspect of our business, from sourcing to packaging. It’s our pledge to leave a positive footprint on both your skin and the planet. Our products are designed to help you not just care for your skin, but truly love it and your self-care rituals.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our business is located in a very small town called Whitehouse, Ohio, which is located about 20 minutes south of Toledo, Ohio. While some will say there isn’t much to do in this area, I disagree. Our brick-and-mortar, Dahlia Beauty Bar, is located within a quaint shopping center called The Shops at Blue Creek, which houses my favorite local coffee shop, Copper Press Roastery, a beautiful crystal and metaphysical shop, Age of Aquarius, thrifting, food, and more. Northwest Ohio is home to many different Metroparks, so if you are a nature lover like myself, Whitehouse is part of the Oak Openings region, which is a unique and biodiverse area known for its rich variety of plant and animal species. This area is known for its sandy soil, oak savannas, and wet prairies. I could spend all day here basking in the wilderness.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As I reflect on the journey of Dahlia Skincare, it is impossible to overlook the incredible role that my clients and my team at our brick-and-mortar, Dahlia Beauty Bar, have played in our success. In the beginning, when Dahlia was a only a vision that seemed so far off, my clients believed in me and that vision. Their commitment to self-care has allowed me to grow and bring on a team, which has allowed for more growth. Our clients have been excited and supportive every step of the way. Truly, I would not be able to own a successful spa and skincare line without the love and support that we receive and I extend my deepest gratitude to those that have believed in Dahlia.
