We had the good fortune of connecting with Shan Digg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shan, why did you pursue a creative career?
Initially I didn’t want to do music. I sang at church since I was 5 years old, I was kind of born in it. I started ghostwriting for people back in high school not knowing I would make a career out of it. I’ve always wrote songs, sang songs and recorded here and there, but until I sat and learned under pos mov that’s when I started to write and sing more. Then I went to college for music at the time. I’ve been doing music for the last 15 years professionally.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is my sound, I think the true mark of an artist is the ability to create a sound that sets them apart. I’m proud that as an event thrower/planner I have given over 100 local artists a platform to perform original music over the years at multiple events. I worked hard and networked I invested in myself and other people, it’s not always easy because sometimes you might see someone’s talent or potential before they realize it so that leads to caring too much. I’ve learned life is about balance so should be being a creative, that’s the greatest lesson I’ve learned. My story is one of perseverance and creativity. It’s one of loyalty and hard work. It’s important that people know I started making music without fear and with a mind to challenge people creatively.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a museum type of guy, so I would go on a museum tour. We have several museums so I would set that up for Monday. I would probably go to Taco Tuesday at club evolution.
Wednesday I would probably go to the studio because most of my friends either do music or are involved with music. We’d visit family or something.
Thursday by that time I might put together something for our band to do a live band karaoke.
Friday-Sunday would be depending on this Ohio weather.
