Meet Sista Lu | Comedian & Public Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sista Lu and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sista, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?

My Mom always said “There’s a better way to do anything!”

What struck me as a young woman was that strategy and grace can coexist and work in your favor. Creative problem solving is a way of life. I read, meditate, and simply watch life to maintain that same philosophy of outside the box thinking.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

While having a plethora of life experiences has enriched and enhanced my career, the speed of tech development is a current challenge. For example, AI has millions of applications however thankfully it’s not possible to quantify my creativity or my work ethic. These factors have served to my continuous growth and support authentic connections  with people.

I’ve learned to embrace some aspects of the latest tech development because I do want the world to have a Sista Lu experience from the comfort of their device worldwide. I’m here to share these amazing gifts that God has given me. Joy is my superpower!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Central Ohio has so much to offer that will engage all of your senses. Sundays at Rumba Cafe are a must to enjoy the Hoo Doo Soul band they are a long-standing Columbus treasure ! The Center for Entrepreneurial Development or Columbus CO-ED located at 1890 East Main Street serves as a source of pride and wonder on Mondays you can engage with other local business owners in a social setting for free.
Columbus Parks and Recreation has designed spaces that relieve my anxiety all around the city including one of my favorite parts to Scioto Audubon just west of downtown it contains a water tower with observation decks that you can see the entire city and  enjoy some of the best sunsets in Ohio. Not to mention I’m an avid kayaker and there is a boat dock on the other side of the park as well as ample space for a dog park, walking trails, and most importantly bathrooms LOL

My besties @nakicatering @glorieuxwafulz  work in the culinary arts so I’m truly blessed to be surrounded by chefs therefore I go where they work so that I know who’s cooking the food wonderful delicious meals are available at SC Bar and Kitchen and Restoration Hardware . An honorable mention is the Turkey Hill gas station at Broad and Nelson has some of the best fried chicken in the city! It is a must for me to find delicious fried foods as I do not know how to fry chicken.

The Attic Comedy Club 892 Oak Street has a full line of programming every night of the week with a midweek showcase hosted by yours truly. Naturally this is my invite to all of your readers to join us on any Wednesday at 8 p.m. The  “We Almost There” Wednesday Showcase  highlights local restaurants like Mikey’s Late Nite Slice Pizza by  allowing free admission  if patrons bring a receipt from meal purchase ! Thats the perfect date night to get you over the hump. Olde Towne East Hump Nite begins April 2024 !

Thankfully you can find all of these things and more within Central Ohio for reasonably priced sensory engagement that will leave you satisfied and wanting more.
