Meet Skyler Hollon | Autonomous Problem Solver | Construction Guru

We had the good fortune of connecting with Skyler Hollon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Skyler, how do you define success?
Success is to be an addict to pain over comfort exceedingly, far more and above. When your daily life sucks and you’re dissatisfied, it’s likely because you refuse to do hard things. Success looks like saying no to comfort. Choose your pain or pain will choose you. In short, you have to choose to do the things you do not want to find success you did not foresee. Not just once– but to do it over time, continually… for a long time even if currently failing. This is the journey of the steps required to move the needle. If you don’t have a target, you’ll miss it every time, hence why successful people construct their own internal image of what success looks like for themselves, and then apply the behavior of the person they want to become because they believe in themselves to do it. Again and again, day in and day out, there is struggle, but that means in your toil if you plant yourself on solid ground, you will grow. By crafting your environment, success then becomes not about results, it’s more accurately described when your internal expectations are meeting and matching with reality.
TLDR: Take small steps in the right direction. Push till something happens. Pull till something gives. No matter the cost.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Construction isn’t sexy. So we do it differently. We asked the question “what makes construction companies suck?” We found three items: #1 poor communication: late response times, unclear deliverables, etc., #2 inconsistency, not showing up when you said, wrong expectations, #3 limited service availability and complexity: specific niches reduce clients’ ability to manage and control the project. We answered this by doing the direct opposite: we practice the three C’s: Clear | Concise | Constant Communication. By setting up the small things ie an appointment and showing up on time, we continually build trust with our client from the first phone call. This is why more than 95% of our clients are customers for life. Further, we seek to say yes to the client even when it’s not convenient because we see the value in giving our clients the time and attention they deserve. This crafted and custom approach is human and natural. There is no other way but to find a way, no matter the project’s complexity.
This is the Freedom Construction & Design difference, that sets us up exceeding far above and beyond our competitors, because we give them the freedom to build the life they want.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d say let’s go out to eat, my #1 choice being Billy Yanks. Where to begin! The menu is phenomenal– so many different options for both the picky eater and the connoisseur of casual eats. This joint is known for its smash-style burgers and bourbon selection; however, don’t skip out on my favorite, it’s the Cajun BBQ Meatloaf or the Grilled Chicken Ranch Club, a perfect place for a date night, family dinner, or lunch on the weekend, and conveniently located in downtown Hamilton. Apart from food, you’ll find me spending my weekends at home working on my infinitesimal side projects in and around the house, looking for an excuse to use my 3D printer. I’d likely invite my friends over for a game of Munchkin or Cards, maybe a Star Wars or Harry Potter Marathon, yes, even in my twenties. However, when I get antsy, it’s always fun to pursue through downtown Hamilton’s various window boutiques, maybe get a Boba Drink and Crepe while we walk. Who’s to say, Ohio weather permitting, you might just find us two miles up a creek deep in the heart of the nearby Hueston Woods State Park.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A Special Thanks to The Africa Mission Team 2024 for joining me in the trip of a lifetime, in opening my life to a clear vision forward, and my wonderful team of pro’s who I get the privilege to work with day in and day out.
