Meet Sophia Piercy | Fashion designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophia Piercy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sophia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting a business was that I wanted to create a brand that shows my passion for design as well as the person who inspired me which was my uncle. Basing my brands name and style around him makes it even more motivating and comforting. Growing up I always knew I wanted to do something with fashion and thankfully when quarantine happened it gave me the perfect excuse to start sewing again. Taking a risk like this was the best decision I’ve made and I’m so thankful that I’m able to do what I love for a living.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my brand back in 2020 and ever since then I’ve been teaching myself how to sew. Getting where I am today was not easy but trial and error were a huge part in this process. By trying different things it helped me to go outside of my comfort zone and grow my brand to where it is now. I love what I do so much and want to continue to learn as much as possible about it while continuing to grow my business.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was coming to town to visit I would make her go to the adrenaline monkey with me. It’s a giant indoor adventure center with different things you can do like rock walls and different obstacle courses. I’d take her to Dave’s hot chicken too because it’s addicting to me at least. For some wine and a charcuterie board I’d take her to michael Angelo’s winery. Knowing us we would want to go to the gym a couple times and try a class like cycle bar. For a night out I’d take her to the flats for some drinks. We would definitely make time for a comfy movie day too of course.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and friends have been so supportive with everything and I could’ve be more thankful because I wouldn’t be able to do what I love without all their help.
