Hi Stefani, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As the eldest of my five siblings, taking the lead has always been my thing. I’ve got this natural knack for diving into uncharted waters and pioneering new paths. Since I was a little girl, giving my friends and family makeovers was my thing, and the services just came so natural. I fell in love with seeing women transform and see their beauty in a new light. I eventually enrolled into cosmetology school after managing med spas and salons, and it hit me like a brick wall—there was a gaping hole in the beauty schools.
I was craving more and I felt the call to search for further education.

So, I packed my suitcase, traveled across the country, taking classes from industry leaders,soaking in every bit of knowledge like a sponge. Soon, colleagues and aspiring artists were flocking to me, hungry for the wisdom I’d gained.

That’s when the light bulb went off, my friends! As I visualized the lives I could touch and transform, it ignited a passion within me. I saw an opportunity to create something impactful, my own curriculum, my own school. Elevate Academy of Beauty became my mission to revolutionize the industry’s education.

My driving force? It’s about empowering aspiring artists, giving them the tools and confidence to create their own success stories. Seeing these incredible individuals flourish in their careers after learning new skills and techniques? That’s what sets my soul on fire! Elevate Academy of Beauty—it’s where dreams become reality!

My journey to where I am today has been a beautiful blend of faith, hard work, and a vision that ignites my soul. It hasn’t been a walk in the park, let me tell you. It’s taken countless hours, extreme determination, and a “why” that propels me forward each day.

In my career, I’ve been fortunate to partner with global brands, win multiple awards, and connect with so many amazing individuals using my talents as a makeup artist and educator. From hosting sold-out classes across the country with my school to being part of the most special moments for brides on their big day, my career has been fulfilling!

But let’s be real, entrepreneurship isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. I’ve weathered the storms of two recessions and a global pandemic, learning invaluable lessons along the way.

Throughout my entrepreneurial journey, one invaluable lesson has risen to the forefront: honoring your intuition and carving out intentional time to nurture your business, not just get lost in the day-to-day hustle.
Trusting your gut isn’t a cliché; it’s a game-changer. Your instincts often hold the key to pivotal decisions. I’ve had moments where following my intuition, against the grain of conventional wisdom, became the stepping stones to monumental breakthroughs for my business.

Another lesson I’ve embraced is the importance of being open to pivot and change. Pivoting isn’t just about adapting; it’s about thriving in transformation. Openness to change isn’t merely adapting; it’s thriving amidst transformation. I’ve realized the importance of being agile and adaptable in a constantly shifting business landscape. Pivoting strategies or approaches isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a strategic move that can keep your business ahead of the curve.

The greatest lesson I’ve learned for business owners is this: prioritize internal healing and mindset development above all else.
In my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve found that focusing on self-development—particularly internal healing and nurturing a growth-oriented mindset—is the ultimate game-changer. It’s not just a supportive tool; it’s the cornerstone that can redefine the trajectory of your business.
Investing in your personal growth, understanding and healing emotional wounds, and fostering a resilient and adaptable mindset are pivotal. These efforts aren’t merely complementary; they’re the linchpin that fuels true business success.

So, to my fellow entrepreneurs: remember, your business’s progress is deeply intertwined with your personal evolution. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To kick things off, we’re immersing ourselves in nature at one of my favorite parks. Think towering trees, winding trails, and that earthy scent that feels like a warm hug. We’ll explore, soak in the tranquility, and who knows, maybe spot some adorable critters along the way! Now, I love a good dining experience with my friends and there are so many amazing restaurants to choose from! Jeff Ruby’s or S.O.B. is a go-to for a swanky, ‘feel like royalty’ kind of feast. But, hey, I’m all about mixing it up, so a place like Pacific Kitchen or Mazunte is where we can kick back, munch on some delights, and just vibe.
And anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE catching sunsets! Lounging on a rooftop, surrounded by hues of orange and pink painting the sky, with live music in the background – a perfect end to the night!
We are also hitting those local boutiques run by my fellow business owner friends. Expect trendy threads, funky finds, and those ‘OMG, I must have this’ moments. I love a little retail therapy a chance to snag some unique treasures!
Last but not least, we will definitely plan spa day at Elevate Beauty Suites! Massages that’ll make you melt, facials to make you glow—luxury HD Makeup applications and maybe an impromptu photo shoot? The perfect escape for my friends to feel like royalty!
