We had the good fortune of connecting with Steven Seay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Steven, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my business was creating a safe space for me. I wasn’t happy with working a 9-5 and a lot of that had to do with knowing I was much bigger than a day job. I was the neighborhood kid that grew up shoveling snow, mowing grass, washing cars, taking the trash out etc. I knew God had a higher calling for my purpose and it wasn’t sitting at a desk for corporate America.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
SEAY CLEAN LLC is a commercial cleaning business est. in 2019. We offer commercial cleaning services and mobile detailing. What I’m most proud of is I can call this my own! I can leave a legacy for my kids. What sets us apart is the creativity and the customer satisfaction but most of all God is the foundation of my business. We don’t pinch every dollar of us people! We are fair in pricing and we love to give back to the community. I got to where I am today because I never gave up! I prayed and worked my way through adversity. A lot of lessons I learned was to take life one day at a time. Don’t worry about what happened yesterday or what’s going to happen tomorrow focus on the present day! It’s easy to get discouraged being self employed. I want the world to know the Jesus is king of kings and our lord and savior!!!! He is the way John 14:6 is our scripture and our brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Lol I’m a home body! I work a lot but! First stop is Bargos to get some wings! They have the best wings. The esthetics are great the bartenders are amazing! Next around be going to mercy health plex to play basketball. I love kayaking so we would have to take a ride up to green archers. Kings island would be another place to stop by. Love soak city. Also depending on the season I would take a friend to the reds game. Last but not least! Church.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Jesica Seay. My wife I would say deserves recognition. I came home from work one day upset and discouraged and started venting to her about how tired I was of corporate America. My cleaning business was on the slower side at the time and I couldn’t afford to work it full time until she said you need to start getting more involved in your business again. No time wasted I decided to add mobile detailing to my business. I bought a water tank and a generator and started detailing out of my 2019 Chevy equinox. I was working full time still for a while and detailing on the side and then boom!!!! One day I was work and I had a run in with a rude customer and I literally called my wife after and said I’m putting my two weeks in! I’m gonna go full time with my business!!! I had to put all my trust and faith in God because I wasn’t ready to be full time. Long story short I’ve been full time for an over a year and business is steady. Most importantly I am happy!!!!!! I love what I do! My customer service is top priority. I can be personal with my clients I can pray with with my clients I can do what God has called me to do and that’s to serve people.
