Hi Tequise Johnson, Shauna Harrington, Sharmane Harrington, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting our business was a convergence of passion, opportunity, and a hunger for success. It began with identifying a problem or an unmet need, followed by extensive market research to validate the concept. From there, we used strategic planning, financial considerations, and assembling a talented team were crucial steps. Throughout the process, adaptability and resilience were paramount, fueling a journey driven by ambition and a desire to make a meaningful impact within our community. From there Team Group Home was created and we have been striving in business for over 7 years. Putting an end to homelessness in our communities, one home at a time. We love what we do!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Together we are one registered nurse and two realtors. We put our expertise together and created teamgrouphome, where we could assist others with finding or purchasing a property, full set up, licensing, and running your own adult care facility. We can completely help start to finish, and this is what sets us apart from others. We’ve known each other over 18 years, and have always been likeminded individuals. We started out in healthcare as stna’s as teenagers. It wasn’t easy, it took us almost 2 years to start our own homes and a lot of money wasted. We were able to push through, and figure it out. We will now be entering year six of business, as consultants and adult care facility owners. Lessons we’ve learned along the way are that eventually you’ll need a team. You can’t do everything yourself after you reach a certain point. Luckily we started with a team. Also, you get back what you put in. So if you stay focused and dedicated you’ll reach your goals. There will always be some hiccups, so be prepared. Remember to keep god first, and take care of self at all times. Always keep likeminded individuals around you because you are only as good as the company you keep. We’d like the world to know that the term group home is a broad term. Depending on where you live it could be called adult care facility, residential care home, class 1 or 2 home, sober living, adult foster care etc. If you are interested in joining the business do not get discouraged, and find a good mentor to reduce the negative gossip. Don’t let anyone steal your dream, go for it no matter what.
