Meet Tiffany Bailey | Visual Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As soon as my art became more than a hobby, I applied for my LLC. As a creative, I tend to stay in the mindset of doing things for the love of art; however, I must be mindful of protecting my art. Starting my business allowed me to do just that.
I also wanted to create a brand with my art. Starting BTB Artistry allowed me to create a brand that reflects my artistic style while becoming more professional in the industry.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I got to where I am today by practicing A LOT. I don’t have any professional or art school training. My art style has developed by learning the basic techniques from others and adding my spin to them.
This journey has not been easy at all. I’ve dealt with imposter syndrome. I felt I didn’t have a place in the art world because I didn’t have the qualifications or experience. However, I’ve learned that God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called. No matter how much I want to walk away, I find my way back to a canvas. I’ve had to learn to get out of my way because things will come how they need to when they need to.
I want the world to know that I am a person who puts their heart into their art. Every piece I make is a reflection of me. I don’t put out work that doesn’t make me proud. I make art that others love as well. I take the visions people have in their minds and put them on canvas.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Columbus is a city that has pretty much something for everyone. The food scene has so many bangers. When I have visitors, my go-to brunch spots are Drunch or Superchefs. As a vegetarian, I often find myself at 4th & State or I Can’t Believe It’s Vegan. A lover of art and nature, I love to go to the Art Museum or a local gallery. I love the botanical garden or visit one of the many state parks to get outside. If you’re looking for something to do with the kids, you could always visit COSI, the Zoo, or the Aquarium. Christmas time is my favorite time of year, and I love to go out and see the multiple light displays in the city, including the Wildlights at the Zoo or Butch Bando’s Fantasy of Lights. You could get your sports fix by attending a Crew, Clippers, Blue Jackets, or Fury game. High Street is a go-to spot for restaurants, shopping boutiques, and bars. Columbus has something for everyone. A quick Google Search, and I’m sure you can find what you’re looking for.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my loved ones, family, and friends who consistently encourage me to get outside my comfort zone and chase my dreams.
I also want to dedicate my shoutout to anyone living with a mental illness who fights daily to achieve their wildest dreams.
