Meet Tiffeny North-O’Neal | Entrepreneur & Philanthropist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffeny North-O’Neal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffeny, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I thought if I can be this passionate about someone else’s vision, I wonder how much drive I could give to my own vision. I have worked for many companies. I have often been praised for my ability to perform at a level that exceeds the expectations of the employer. Although it is a great feeling to know you are truly valued in your line of work, there’s no greater feeling than knowing you’re working hard to build towards something that belongs to you! Ownership will always be key to success for me. I’ve wasted years building someone else’s dream. I finally have the opportunity to make my dreams/goals come true.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the proud owner of OWN Elite Services DBA Edible Arrangements. Edible Arrangements is your go-to destination for Edible gifts that are oh-so delicious and perfect for just about any occasion! Our handcrafted Edible gifts are made with fresh fruits, gourmet chocolate, and other irresistible treats that are sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. We have two store locations in the Columbus area; both are million dollar stores. I am a firm believer of NOT recreating the wheel. This is probably why I love the world of franchising. I know my area of expertise; I am not an inventor. I am an innovator. I use new ideas/methods to improve productivity. I have taken this same approach throughout my career path. The road to success has not been an easy one. I make sure to learn from the trials and triumphs. No matter what line of work you are in, if you’re an entrepreneur or not… GIVE IT YOUR ALL! Take risk and it’s ok to make mistakes.. I feel I am the true definition of making something out of nothing. I have overcome homelessness, welfare, bankruptcy and more. If I can do it, so can YOU! Never give up on yourself; even if others do. Stay focused on the goal. My favorite quote is, “Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.” – Henry David Thoreau
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a hometown girl at heart. I love the city of Cincinnati. I have a few places that are close to my heart. My favorite place to frequent has to be Nostalgia. This wine bar is amazing! From the live band to the entire ambience! You can’t be raised in Cincinnati and not be a Bengal fan. Well, at least that’s my opinion. I’m a “Who Dey” girl all the way! I not only attend every home game, I tailgate too! If you’ve never been to Longworth Hall for a tailgating experience or in the Paycor Stadium cheering with the crowd… YOU ARE MISSING OUT! Lastly, Kings Island! I’ve been going to this beautiful amusement park since I was in diapers! It’s only fair I carry on the tradition of taking my kids all season long. They love it as much as I do.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have had many trials and tribulations in my lifetime. I have to say, they have all worked for towards creating my success! I would not have made it this far without my faith! I also have to thank my strong mother. She taught me at a young age to have faith of at least a mustard seed; watch miracles happen. I have been married for 17 years now. My husband is my rock! Every business venture, every event, every wild idea I have… this man is right by myself making things happen! I have such a strong support system. They keep me grounded, focused, encouraged and motivated! I couldn’t make half of this happen without my family and friends. I wouldn’t trade any of them for anything!
