Meet Toyia Montgomery | Owner/CEO, Good Vibes, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Toyia Montgomery and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Toyia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my business during the pandemic because I saw a need for someone to advocate for minorities and women in business. Good Vibes was created to provide entertainment and engagement for organizations looking to grow their businesses.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My career has been filled with a lot of ups and downs along the way. I have succeeded, I have failed but most importantly, I have learned. I learned more during my failures than my successes could ever teach. I’m grateful for every part of my story but it has collectively made me who I am today. Good Vibes is my third entrepreneurial venture and the one I’m most proud of. What sets me apart from competitors in this space is my varied background and ability to relate or have experience in most industries or areas of business. I recognize that I was placed in so many different roles throughout my career to prepare me for what I do today. I’m my client’s biggest cheerleader and no matter what is going on behind the scenes I make sure the customer has a flawless experience. I’m a firm believer that once you know better, you should do better. I have made it a point to help more minorities and women get access to resources that can help them grow their businesses. I aim to help more people leave legacies rather than simply have hobbies.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Cincinnati is an artsy city with a number of unique restaurants and a ton of culture to experience. I would start by taking my friend on the street car because it’s an easy way to get around the city and see the sights! I would start on Vine street in OTR for a little food, shopping and a fun dessert. I might go to Soul Secrets, The Eagle or Taste of Belgium for lunch. I would go make some candles at the Candle Lab and then go to Graeter’s for a sundae, a few scoops of ice cream or a smoothie. I would stop by Fountain Square, The Banks, Washington Park or Findlay Market for live entertainment or some people watching. I would finish the evening with a show at the Aronoff or a comedy show at the Taft or Music Hall. If we still have energy, we could do a little bar hoping down Walnut or make our way down to Ghost Baby for an exclusive experience. There is always something to do in downtown Cincinnati.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have an entire village of people that have supported me throughout my journey. My family and friends have been instrumental but especially my former business partners Tiffeny & Talia. We have always supported each other immensely, in whatever we chose to pursue. My producer Timikal and my media guy Greg have also been extremely helpful. My clients and viewers are the reason I stay the course. My partner Cody is my number one fan and I appreciate his support so much.
