We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyla Regan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyla, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
In the modeling industry it’s important to understand that you will receive many “no’s” before getting a “yes”. Never take a no personal, instead use it as a learning experience for future castings and/or bookings.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Tyla Regan;model, influencer, activist.

Growing up as a child constantly being bullied for being the “heaviest female” created a major level of depression with little to no confidence. While faced with many adversities I found a way to embrace my body while staying authentic to myself. As a young adult I use my platform to creatively empower women of all shapes, sizes, color and ethnicity. As a model it’s important to be authentic and use my lows as a high to influence others of their beauty.

Nothing is ever easy in life. When I started my journey 4 years ago I was a full figure African American woman that received many closed doors before one opened. This industry is hard filled with high competition. What separates me from others is my perseverance and dedication. I believe in myself and believe I am capable of success. My advice to you is first believe in yourself and second put in work!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend comes to town and the itinerary is filled with good eats, rejuvenating spas, and a mix of fun activities. I love support black owned businesses and some of my favorite must go’s are boomtown for brunch, catch me if u can for lunch, and Bugatti’s for dinner. Wine tasting at Cooper’s hawk is a must after a day of pampering at wood house spa. My best friend and I always are up for a little fun so activities range as relaxing as candle lab and the contemporary museum of course content is a necessity. To a day full of high energy with escape room, go karting, and rage room.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I would like to say I am thankful for God my savior for the unlimited amount of blessings. I am beyond thankful for my team in all their hard work to get me to where I am today. To my family and friends who are always supporting and uplifting me. Lastly, I want to thank my fan base. My fans are truly my biggest support that continues to give me the drive to go harder each and every day.
