We had the good fortune of connecting with Yomar Vera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yomar, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started YB Performance because I wanted to create a soccer training business that truly focuses on the holistic development of players, something I felt was missing in my experience. I wanted to provide a platform where players could get personalized, high-quality training to reach their full potential. My drive comes from a passion for soccer and a desire to guide players on their journey, using my knowledge and experience to make a real impact.

What should our readers know about your business?
YV Performance is a soccer training business that focuses on developing players holistically—technically, physically, tactically, and mentally. What sets us apart is our personalized approach, tailoring training to each player’s unique needs. It wasn’t easy building this from the ground up, but I drew on my early coaching experiences in Peru and guidance from mentors like Coach Jim to overcome challenges. YV Performance is all about empowering young athletes to reach their full potential, and I’m committed to making it a leader in soccer training.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to the players I coached in Peru before YB Performance was even a thought. Those early experiences in high school were where I first discovered my passion for coaching and realized the difference I could make in young athletes’ lives. These moments laid the foundation for what would eventually become YB Performance. I also want to acknowledge Coach Jim, who later guided me to refine my business idea more compatible with the soccer world around Cincinnati.
